Occupy Wall Street Hypocrisy; Anti-Semitism & more within OWS Movement

The Occupy Wall Street Movement is in general a very sad and telling snapshot on our society today, with their self centered, "give me", narcissistic attitude, and blame somebody else attitude, with no concept of economics or reality.

I will qualify my statements/comments to note that I am sure there are genuine persons with genuine grievances in the OWS movement; however from what I have read, seen, and simple analysis of most grievances most of these persons are not grounded in reality.

As a side note:
Just based on the ever increasing rude emails I receive in my business where others will attempt to blame me or others for their failure to read & understand, or get mad when I attempt to be as efficient with my time by "pasting" parts of my many researched articles in emails rather than provide a long 30 minute email or phone answer (at no charge). These persons simply refuse to read the plethora of information I have provided.
Similar to this, I recently had a person claim a working UVC Bulb was misrepresented because it would not work in his degraded ballast and he refused to read the extensive information I provided to help him with his problem; instead he chose to make rude, accusatory and blatantly false accusations.
It is also noteworthy that when I/we track persons that send us rude, demanding, etc., to blogs, Facebook, etc. we find that well over 90% hold almost exactly the same views as the Occupy movement (THIS IS A VERY TELLING FACT!).

My wife works at a general merchandise store (similar to Walmart), and she too has observed this rapidly increasing narcissistic attitude of "I am owed something", with customers expecting much for free (basically she or others, including this so-called "Greedy Corporation" are placed on this planet to serve them with absolutely no compensation!).

From my perspective (being in business 30 plus years), this problem has grown at an alarming rate in recent years and the often Socialist/Communist/Fascist aspect of the Occupy Wall Street movement exemplifies this as well for me.

As well my terrible financial situation I find myself in is in part due to this "stick it to the man attitude" since a couple that took advantage of a personal leave of absence and liquidated much of my business and worse; the person who took advantage of my wife's postpartum depression and screwed us out of $1000s as well as permanently harmed my young daughter voiced this exact view (I was/am a small businessman who has ALWAYS placed his employees and honesty to customer above all else and honest persons through the years can attest to this).
Frankly I can "see him" every time I listen to the Occupy protests, which is another reason I find the Occupy Movement so extremely offensive.

Back to the "Occupy" Movement:
Here is the #1 Complaint I have heard repeated over and over:

Greedy Corporations are to blame for our current financial/economic issues:

This is a complex issue that I cannot cover in a blog post and do justice. I will however note that the Occupy Wall Street Crowd certainly has some merit to this claim, but it is very misdirected.
For one much of this problem has been caused by liberals such as Barney Frank via regulations on the banking industry that forced many of the bad loans that later melted down.
This is not to say many large corporations are not without fault and are to blame, but why do persons continue to do business with such corporations such as Bank of America, which by-the-way is a major contributor to liberal causes.

But what really blows my mind is the company that is THE MOST corrupt is Google, yet how many of these Occupy Wall Street crowd are "googling" or using Google Search, Google Android Phones, etc?
The facts are Google has been proven to plagiarize small business or writers for use with Adsense/Adwords then deny these revenue streams, as well it has been proven that Google Search is slanted toward large corporations, but new, innovative, or researched companies or information articles.

*Also why is there no anger at the Obama administration which has supported bail-outs of corporations (in other words "Crony Capitalism")? As a small business, no government entity has ever come to my aid (nor should they).
What about denial of Food Stamps when we were struggling a few years ago (the Food Stamps program is very corrupt and is based on accounting methods with no basis in the reality of business)? Where is the anger here, of coarse there is none since many in this crowd are receiving these benefits while others struggle all night collecting cardboard and bottles to feed their families.

*Where is the outrage by this Occupy Mob about political contributions, as they incorrectly assume the top political contributions go to the Republican Party and are all from corporations and this is SIMPLY NOT TRUE:

The recently released study of “heavy hitters” by the Center for Responsible Politics showed the amount of money the top 140 political donors gave to Democrats and Republicans from 1989 through 2010. Four of the top six gave $170 million over that period, with $151 million going to Democrats, and less than $3 million going to Republicans (the difference going to unaffiliated or independent political groups). In simple math, Democrats received 89 percent while Republicans got less than two percent.

*Back to corporations (& while this does not justify greed), it is important to note that Entrepreneurs/business are the ones that create jobs and "putting it to the man" is not going to get you a job!

The bottom line is while corporate greed and more importantly "Crony Capitalism" is a legitimate complaint (probably the most legitimate "Occupy" complaint IMO), there is no understanding of who creates the jobs, the fact that not all business are "greedy" (just as not all of the Occupy Wall Street Crowd are scum or without legitimate grievances).
There is also an extreme misunderstanding of economics, and lack of reality of how much more regulations will simply add to big government which is the real problem.
What this crowd simply needs to do is stop being hypocrites and simply boycott the companies that they feel this way about and stop using companies such as Bank of America and Google that are known for these issues!

As well tell government from City to Federal to end many of the regulations (that large corporations can get around, buy their way out of, etc. anyway), but HURT small business entrepreneurs which are the TRUE area of growth and jobs in this country.
*Put an end to agencies such as the EPA that cause more problems than they solve.
*Fire everyone at the The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) whom administers the corrupt Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) program that is anti small business

WHAT WE NEED IS LESS GOVERNMENT, NOT MORE as many in the Occupy movement demand!!

Finally; corporations are simply entities that serve their stock holders, of which these stock holders include many retirement accounts and similar held by everyday persons (including many of these "Occupiers"). Many corporate CEOs & Board of Directors are attempting to meet voting shareholders demands for growth, dividends, or both and admittedly many attempt to meet these demands through less than moral business practices.

While one person can do little about this, if MANY would stop their complaining and "occupying" and take the time to look over their Mutual Funds, etc. to see if there is a company they find offensive in their business practices and then either vote in the next stock holders proxy or simply dump these stocks or tell your account manager/broker that you are not interested in Mutual Funds or Stock with companies x, y, & z

While the above is admittedly an over simplification, it still is a starting point rather than blaming others, I know their are companies such as Bank of America or Google that I would never buy stocks or Mutual Funds that contained their stocks or bonds there in.

The Top 1% control too much of the income/assets!!

Again a legitimate complaint at the surface, but where is the complaining about the Hollywood elite, pop singers, athletes, etc. that make more money in a day than I or others will make in a life time?
Let me state that these persons only make this kind of money because persons are willing to pay.
As an example, I do NOT watch Professional Football, only college; so I can legitimately complain about what pro players make. That said, this is MY choice and someone who prefers pro football has every right to watch and enjoy the game, just do not complain about how much these persons make unless you are willing to stop financing this by your support.

In another example; I have a good friend who recently lost his wife of many years and mother of his children due to brain cancer. He has severe diabetics and other severe health issues and struggles with depression too.
A lady where he lives came along side him. She has taken care of him both in simply being there for him, and taking care of his needs. She also happens to make over $400,000, which places her in the 1% (approximately $375 is the cutoff).
She is like an angel from heaven, but in listening to many in the Occupy Movement, anyone who is in the 1% is the enemy (or simply evil)
From my understanding of the simple human compassion or the Bible, to call "Good" evil is simply evil itself as evil can exist along side good (darkness along side light), thus making these "Occupy" persons accusing this good person of being the enemy simply evil themselves!!

An important side note is government regulation is strangling small businesses and the jobs it creates.
We might make a dent in spreading the wealth around by shutting down the Environmental Protection Agency and similar government agencies.
The FACTS ARE only large corporations (the top 1%) can afford to pay the environmental studies which are nothing more than bribes in many instances.
I have a friend in construction who has told me so many of the ridiculous regulations such as having to make a washout basin for concrete. This same concrete is poured on bare soiling when building roads, sidewalks, etc. This is a ridiculous waste of efficiency and money that protects nothing.

The newest outrage is the attempt to shut down ports; Who does this hurt? It hurt the workers at the ports, it hurts retailers such as myself that supply many of these products, it hurts those I employ, it hurts consumers that depend upon many of these goods and will now pay higher prices.
Bluntly if this evil action that hurts so many families and jobs by the scum in the OWS movement does not convince those on the fence, nothing will.

Pay My School Loans!!

This is another demand often heard which is utterly ridiculous.
I, nor does anyone else owe anyone for their higher education. Have these persons heard of getting work and saving first, or as I did working a 40 hour job, and even selling Crystal on the side while attending Cal Poly University?

I have friend that owes $90,000, yet he can NEVER pay this down because of a government bull #### screw up that will never allow him to use what he is educated to do (he even saw a judge that agreed and ex-sponged the system, but this still would not clear the way).
The credentialing board *deliberately* did what they did, knowing it would in large part ruin his future

Where is the outrage against universities that continue to raise tuition far faster than inflation and often support 6 figure salaries for professors to teach a few classes per day. As well these professors have job security (tenure) that many of the "evil' leaders of the business world only dream about in their long days (this is not to say that all professors are lazy and do not necessarily earn their pay, but let's be fair with our criticism OWS supporters!!!)
As well what about universities that push students unsure of what they want to do in life into studies such as "English', whereby when they graduate they cannot find a job other than flipping hamburgers with little hope of paying off their school loans? Once again where is the outrage by the OWS crowd here??
Maybe some honesty to potential students to look to a trade school if they are not sure of what they want and if the result is less students in some University departments, so be it.

Again the problem is we need less government, more hard work, and more honesty.

Alec Baldwin is a great case study for OWS supporters to learn from; here is a guy that epitomizes the condescending attitudes of many liberals (his recent incidence on an American Airlines flight is a clear example). Alec Baldwin makes more money than most persons dream of in a lifetime and I do know an honest OWS supporter who complained about him and actors/actresses in general as to the amount of money they make.
However my answer to anyone who does not agree with an actors, musician, etc. as to their income is the same as with a corporation; simply do not watch their movies, buy their music, etc. I will also add that while I do not have any respect for Alec Baldwin, and it would be nice if my talents could generate the same income as his;, the FACTS are his dry humor and acting abilities are such that many persons are willing to pay him for his talents and for me or any other person to be jealous or covet his talents or income is simply silly and wrong.
The short answer is most of us do not have talents that will pay the big bucks and to expect equal pay for unequal talents is ludicrous. I simply refuse to watch or support with my money anything this man does, but others choose to do so, which is their right as well.

USA Debt Ceiling Crisis; More Media Lies

As usual the Main Stream Media (NBC, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NY Times, etc.) along with Obama, Sen. Harry Reid, and many RINO Republicans are simply LYING about the so called Debt Ceiling Crisis.

This is not complicated economics and does not take much to figure out, yet sadly many otherwise good intentioned Americans have taken the bait.

(1) First, look at this way;
If you as a private citizen lives beyond your means, but keep asking for Credit line increases from the bank and one day they finally (& rightfully) say no; does life come to a grinding halt? Most certainly not, you simply will be forced to live within your means.

This debt ceiling in the most simple terms is just this.

(2) Tax Revenue will continue to pour into US Treasury coiffeurs from many sources, such as Gasoline Taxes, Tariffs, Quarterly estimated taxes, etc. etc. etc.

Regardless of whether the debt ceiling is raised or not, plenty of revenue will continue to come in. The difference will be we will have to live within our means and stop borrowing so much to fund Obamas legacy.

(3) We will NOT default on loan payments, as the incoming revenue will be vastly more than enough to pay this and entitlements such as Social Security.
Yes Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa; Your Social Security checks or Disability will continue to come unless Obama chooses to make some kind of evil point by witholding payments.
In other words the Media and Democrats are simply lying, this is simple economics.

(4) Interest Rates will not rise; While I cannot categorically say they will not rise, this is highly unlikely, especially when one considers that there is a finite amount of money and when demands for loans increases, often so do interest rate.
So when the United States stop competing for this finite supply of money/funds, it goes to figure it is more than likely to go down (again simple economics).

Just as importantly, the so called cuts proposed by Harry Reid are not nearly enough according to Moody's, Standard & Poor's (which ranks bonds, AAA, AA, and so on). So raising the debt ceiling and Not making enough cuts are more likely to raise interest rates.

Again this is simply another Media and Democrat Lie.

The Stock Market dropping after the passage of a poor so-called compromise bill adds to this point (which was mostly the Republicans once again giving into our presidents socialist agenda)

(5) The Republicans will not compromise; Obama has not put forth a single plan, and Harry Reid in the US Senate has only put forth one plan and then only just a few days ago.
It is the Republican controlled House of Representatives that has put forth multiple plans only to be shot down by the President and Senate and labeled as "not willing to compromise".

Sorry, again this is not rocket science who is not compromising.

(6) The Republicans do not want to take away your disability or Social Security check.
However I will admit the system is broken and out of date and something must be done

Using a business as an example; Blockbuster Video did not adapt with the times, keeping an outdated business plan that did not grow/expand with changes in how persons view videos, etc. and thus went bankrupt.

Similar the Social Security Program was started in the 1930s and has not changed all that much since then.
Bluntly as someone in my 50s closing in on the retirement age of 65, i would be willing to push it back to 67, 68, 69 or any age to make more solvent (obviously more needs to be done than just this)

(7)Baseline Budgeting is a FRAUD! The Democrats (& RINO Republicans) love to use Baseline Budgeting to call what is not really a cut, a cut. This is then used to make them look like budget cutters when it can be good for their image or call a non cut a cut when it can be used against a Republican to make them look bad (such as taking money from Granny).

Simply put, here is an explanation I heard that explains Baseline Budgeting well:
If you budget $50,000 for new car, then go shopping and find a $70,000 car on sale for $60,000 and then you decide to purchase this car. You tell yourself you saved $10,000, when in reality you spent $10,000 more. THIS IS BASELINE BUDGETING!

The Media can not help themselves with their lies!!

As I predicted the need to cap the debt ceiling was/is essential and since this was not done the USA had its bond rating lowered and and the stock market also reacted.
Yet Kool Aid drinking fools such as George Stephanopoulos cannot believe themselves so they continue with their lies and now imply that the Tea Party was/is at fault.

Sorry George and others who believe this lie, the Tea Party demanded a cap as Standard and Poors did.

The liberal lies continue as they destroy our country all while the worst president in the history of the USA is at the helm and the blame lies at his feet along with his liberal allies.

SUMMARY:
As a business owner that has struggled much many for reasons that are certainly not the governments fault, but with taxes (many hidden in cost of inventory, gasoline taxes, gross revenue taxes and more), I have seen my taxes increase considerable for the 2010 and estimated 2011 tax seasons and this simply has got to stop.
I have to live within my means and the disgusting government run by scum like Obama have NO right to take even more money just because they CANNOT live within their means.

Importance of China Economy to US; Dangers of Protectionism

I often read lame fluff news stories on Yahoo, then read the comments below where persons make comments such as "we need to bring home jobs by placing large tariffs on cheap Chinese goods".

Let me address the short sightedness and dangers of these sadly widespread protectionist views;

Charging higher tariffs only hurts the US consumer that would not be able to live the lifestyle they currently can due to these low priced goods.
Do we really want the jobs that China "takes" from the US? As someone that has professional dealt with China and also has worked/managed production lines, I would venture to say NO. I would rather we provide jobs that design the products, which are better paying and are vastly more enjoyable & stimulating than a job standing in the same place all day long with a soldering gun or similar.
As well I know for a fact that these goods provide jobs for shippers (such as FedEx whom I use), or overseas shipping lines, workers at ports, and the many distributors and retailers of these goods.

I will note that we do need a good heavy industrial base for a healthy economy to at least fall back on, however most of the factories in China are not producing these types of goods, rather commodities such as Aquarium Pumps or Aquarium Lighting products, an example being: T2 Aquarium Lights that are not essential to our industrial base and are more of a "luxury" item.
My point is here that our industrial base was able to ramp up quickly early during World War 2 and many are concerned (rightfully so in my opinion) that we could not today. However much of what we import from China is non essential commodities (such as Lighting) that in my opinion are not as important to our industrial base.
We still generally lead the world in essential food production, aviation, medicines, and many software and other technologies.
What do need to improve is to clamp down on piracy by the Chinese on our technologies and maybe identify true essential commodities imported from China (& elsewhere) and increase tariffs on these goods, not the knickknacks sold at Walmart.
Are all Chinese goods cheap?
This is often a laughable false assumption that many persons believe.
While this can be true, this can also be true of US or even German Goods (in the 1870's made in Germany was a sign of bad quality).
It really comes down to what the company here in the US is willing to pay and understanding that the Chinese do business in a different way than we do in the US.

An example to what i am saying (& this is not just my opinion either, rather many professionals experienced in trade with China):
If you bargain for Widget A that is offered at say $1 usd, and get an agreement to produce this product at .75 cents; here in the US you likely will get this same product for .25 cents cheaper for a better deal for your company and consumers.
However from mine and others experience, this same deal in China generally results in an item literally produced for 25% less cost and of coarse quality suffers.

From mine and others I know in the business community, this is what generally happens with many of the "Cheap" Chinese goods sold here in the US or elsewhere.
Often this results in the plethora of low quality LEDs lights versus first quality such as the TMC LED Aquarium Lights, simply due to expired patents for emitters that are then utilized in cheaper Chinese LEDs (although as noted earlier, patent and copyright infringement IS an issue that needs to be addressed).

The bottom line is there are excellent Chinese Products when one is willing to pay for them, as I learned the hard way with low cost T2 Aquarium Lights before I stopped purchasing "bargained for" T2 Lights. In fact I have seen no lower quality when full production costs are paid with UV Bulbs from certain China factories versus popular European versions.
If the Chinese economy were to slow down or worse, collapse; who is going to buy all the United States debt? Germany is busy bailing out Greece and we cannot seem to stop spending money we do not have, but is the fault of China, I do not think so.
Until our debt is paid, I do not think placing high tariffs on Chinese goods is the answer, it would only result in a snowball effect of higher prices to US consumers, thus slowing sales further, as well as no ability to finance our National debt.

This is not to say that an increase in consumption in China would not help either, as domestic consumption in China is about 30% to 40% gross domestic product. In contrast to the United States domestic consumption makes up 60% to 70% of gross domestic product (see The coming economic crisis in China; Page 3).

In Summary, this article is NOT meant as a defense of China policies, such as human rights, international copyright/patent piracy, manipulating currency, etc. However I just think common sense needs to be used and sadly both Democrats AND Republicans (as well as Libertarians) often do not exercise this much needed common sense.
Isolationist policies are NOT healthy for OUR economy. They have not worked in the past and in a more interconnect world economy are even more dangerous now!
Any politician that thinks otherwise has lost my vote, regardless of party affiliation!
As well our "Drive By" Media needs to stop scaring their viewers/readers with stories that imply these incorrect views.
Maybe George Stephanopoulos, Donald Trump, & others should try working at a factory that puts together lights, basic water pumps, circuit boards, etc if they think these jobs are so great, I know I and my employees would much rather be selling, designing, and educating consumers about these products than working on the assembly line producing these at a fraction of what they are paid here!

Planaria are predatory flatworms, not the round worms that consume detritus which is what all these pages are describing. This is allowing for the dangerous dissemination of misinformation! SHAME ON GOOGLE!!

As of Sept. 2011 the first result is a SPAM blog that is made up of nothing more than "Cut & Paste" articles, including a terrible article about Planaria that is 100% incorrect as per identification, dangers, etc. confusing Planaria with Detritus worms.
Sadly this article is the typical cut and paste spam found in all the articles on this site in question and what Google Panda thinks are good results.

I could use many more examples, such as how about.com comes up in way too many searches, and I thought it was this type of information spam site (content farm) that Google claims to be addressing in their new algorithm update.
While typing in "Aquarium Nitrogen Cycle" yields better results in Google, the fact that the information spam site about.com comes up proves Google has not addressed this issue very well, as well sadly Fish Lore also comes up and this website too is an anecdotal spam site (providing aquarium cycling information that was discredited two decades ago, yet sadly resurfaced on the internet).

About.com also comes up in an extremely misinformed/highly inaccurate article about Columnaris; anyone reading this article will be provided terrible information both in treatment and prevention.

Come on Google, who are you fooling, we know you are calling this an improvement when in reality this is a way to get more spam content up to that then forces readers to click on Adwords?

While I am addressing Googles lack of any integrity, I have to ask when Google Adsense will stop using plagiarized content to place their ads on all the while denying at least three credible sites that I know the use of their original content for Adsense?!

One of the few ways we can get back at Google is for advertisers to opt out of the "Content" network with their Adwords campaigns. If every advertiser were to do this, it would force Google to take a second look at their support of "Scrapers" (websites that steal legitimate websites content for the sole purpose of selling Adsense for the Adwords content network)!

Updated 10/02/11!!

Google has tweeked their Panda Update even more, and even more spam sites (often displaying Google Adwords/Adsense) are appearing above good/real content that thankfully still appears on superior MSN/Yahoo searches.

Let's try a few more searches:
Type in "aquarium fish osmoregulation"; this used to bring up one of the most in depth, constantly researched articles on this subject (which includes the correct use of RO water in aquariums) from the website Aquarium Answers; Osmoregulation in Fish; Minerals, Use of RO, Soft Water in Aquarium.
However, although easily found on Yahooo/MSN, it is not found anywhere on Google's lousy Panda Search. Worse since the Panda update I have since a marked increase in questions from persons using water softener water in their aquarium with the result of sick and dying fish, and quite blunty Google is directly responsible for these fish deaths since these persons did not find the correct information on Google. While the loss of a pet fish is not the "the end of the world" (in many persons view), it certainly shows what can happen from the lack of morals and corruption that is Google.

In fact all Aquarium Answers posts/articles in general have disappeared from Google despite many good in bound authority links, regularly updated content and more.
In a "Statistics" Check, Aquarium Answers receives 3 to 1 referrals from Bing/Yahoo over Google, yet Google is supposed to be the #1 Search engine, further proof Google only provides spam results in the Aquarium/Pond category (I cannot speak for other fields, only my field of expertise).
If a reader does not believe me, just type in the title or keywords such as "salt in freshwater aquarium" and in Yahoo the results are much better while the results are either spammy cut & paste or in the case of the first results served up by Google DEAD WRONG!

Another search with the keywords "Aquarium Information" recently yields a clear spam site: http://newaquariuminformation.com/
This website is NUMBER ONE on Google and is nothing more than a site to sell ads with aquatic information that is so dated, I do not know whether to laugh or cry (I showed the "Lighting" page from this site to another professional in the industry who also could not believe what they were reading, it was like a time machine to 1985!!

Compare this to "Aquarium Lighting; Facts & Information"
In fact the search term "Aquarium Lighting" now brings up mostly websites selling products generations out of date (in fact as of 9/23/11 EVERY page one result was essentially crap, but if you are not familiar with the subject, you may not know this); this is similar to a web search for information about computers bring up information about DOS computers circa 1985 instead of a modern HP, Apple, etc. running a modern operating system such as Windows 7.

Another sham of Google Panda, is that large businesses, regardless of content quality have leaped over better content smaller businesses.
In fact JCPenney which was recently caught with "black hat" SEO in their link building schemes, is suddenly back up for the difficult keyword; "lamps" (great job Google, NOT!)

Another search in my field of endeavor for SeaChem, has the company SeaChem coming up first as it should, however several large companies including the ultimate crap seller; Amazon leaping over quality sites with vastly better content, reputation, and more. Another Google Panda Fail!

The bottom line is if you are an aquarium or pond keeper and you use Google Search for information, may God have mercy on your fish!

This blog post/article is a re-print of an awesome person that has attended the same church as I do (Bethany Presbyterian). My reason is not to plagiarize, but to place in front of others to learn from his incredible insights that have been put in place my many well known companies.

Learnings for Leaders:

· Always recruit strength

· Recruit strong potential

· Do psychological testing

· Review your staff

· If you have staff who’s Thinking Wavelength is does not fit their assignments, don’t try to change them. Assist them to relocate to a job they can do.

· Be an affirmer – There is no Hall of Fame for Critics.

· Celebrate successful efforts and results.

· Let your team challenge themselves.

· Raise the bar for their performance.

· Reward outstanding results and effort.

· Get the thoughts of your silent ones offline

· Don’t try to force group participation – it will not work.

· Screen people carefully for management of major projects – make sure major projects are led by drivers.

· Place people who are silent in meetings in positions where they do not have to manage staff themselves.

My Opinion/Commentary

First this is a well researched article politically speaking can be used to make points for both sides in my opinion.

What remains clear to me is we still need to be less dependent upon foreign oil, especially from the Middle East and Venezuela, although increased energy efficiency has somewhat reduced the dependence of the economy on oil.
As a positive we are currently at about 8% energy consumption as a percentage of gross domestic product while in the early 1970s, US energy consumption as a percentage of gross domestic product was about 16%.

It is easy to blame "big oil" and they certainly are reaping the benefits as they always do during times of spikes in prices, but to place all the blame there is lazy economics.
Is it not true that as an example when say a cold snap hits Florida and many oranges are destroyed that you can expect to pay more for orange juice and often those dealing in this commodity also make more money, yet do we hear the news media and other angry at the "orange juice barons"????

If we must place blame, let's place blame where it belongs; with President Obama, his liberal cohorts (most notably the news media), and the radical (communist) environmental movement.

As for the news media, currently as per the mainstream news outlets, they are only running stories about the spiking oil prices at a rate of 1 to 15 when to compared to 2008 and news reports then blaming Bush.
Talk about corruption in the media!!!!

I would also have to add that even President Bush (W) has some blame, and that is not having the "huevos grandes" to stand up to the liberals in congress and their allegiance to the new home of communism: the radical environmental movement, especially when he had a majority in both houses of congress.

What we should be doing (& of coarse Comrade Obama will not do):

*Vastly increase drilling in Alaska, which the current drilling has shown to not be harmfil to the surrounding environment, in fact quite the opposite.
A new study says drilling on Alaska's Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) could make Alaska the eighth largest oil resource province in the world — ahead of Nigeria, Libya, Russia and Norway.

Charter Internet, Cable; Terrible Service

Charter Cable Internet Service, dishonesty, bait & switch, poor customer service, unreliable internet, and even sexual orientation insulting staff

Charter Cable Internet is by far and away the worst internet provider in the USA, if you do not believe me, just check this out:

What is scary about this above post from PC World is my experience with Charter Cable Internet has gotten MUCH worse since this came out!

Anyway, here is a list of their corporate misbehavior:

Unreliable Internet Service; while admittedly Charter Internet can run as download speeds of 16 mbps or higher, often it drops to .5 to 1.5 (or worse)
Dishonest Customer Service; when calling in I will often get a different answer each time I call in and then when a service tech comes out they will often state something different altogether.
Although in all fairness the field techs for Charter usually seem to be telling the straight story, are polite and try hard to rectify the situation. The field service techs are definitely the one bright spot in this otherwise miserable company and often what they say is rarely followed up on by those in charge to fix the situation once and for all.
Promising service calls or return customer service calls; Charter has made these promises only to fail, such as service call on 2/18/2011 or a call back from a corporate customer service specialist by "Umatter2Charter". Similar incidents have happened many times over the years I have been with Charter.
Condescending automated answers when calling Charter for service problems; Yes I know to unplug my modem and refresh.
Bait & Switch; I have been called to "upgrade" my plan and have been promised one thing, but in reality I do not get the plan I agreed to via a sales call and then when I call back they deny ever making the call; COME ON CHARTER HOW STUPID DO YOU THINK I AM!!
Lying about down line router issues; I have even had Charter lie about issues with down line router issues when my pings said otherwise, when I called them on this they would make condescending replies
Inappropriate remarks from customer service; all the problems aside, this is probably the most insulting; and after this insult all I asked for was an apology from the customer service representative, but Charter chose to sweep this one under the rug.
This incident occurred during one of my regular service interruptions (and after the usual difficulty reaching someone), I reached man who proceeded to insult me and accuse me of basically be "gay" including comments such as I sound like a "girlie man" (BTW, I am straight).
Charter should be ashamed, not because they hired such a troll, but because they swept this under the rug and acted like it did not happen, an apology from this person was all I asked for, nothing more; is that so difficult Charter?

IN SUMMARY;
If you have Charter Internet, I doubt their service is going to improve (not that it cannot, but since they continue to lie, I have serious doubts unless the "light goes off in the heads" of board of directors and they hire someone with some morals to take charge).
If you are thinking of getting Charter Internet; DO NOT!
If you have Charter Internet and have not experienced any real problems, all I can say si people DO win the lottery.

In my opinion Charter is one of the more dishonest, poorly run companies in the USA, although when compared to Google's dishonesty, I guess Charter can still claim "higher ground"

As if the disgusting attack on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords & others was not sickening enough, the left wing response (in the media, from Pima County Sheriff Dupnik, and in places such as Yahoo news feedback) is just downright sickening and truly makes me worry for our Nation.

Nut jobs such as Jared Lee Loughner are sadly always going to exist (just look at some of the bizarre and downright evil comments posted on "Twin Towers" 9/11 YouTube videos, of which he was one of the nut jobs that believed this was a conspiracy), but it is the misquote, and downright hatred by those on the left attempting to pin this on Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and others.
Sorry left wing hate mongers, first this is an act of evil that is sick and wrong regardless of her political views (a Democratic Republic cannot stand when this kind violence is accepted by either side, which most reasonable persons on both sides of the aisle agree with).

Just a little research (which anyone can do) turns up the fact that Jared Lee Loughner is a fan of Karl Marx and Hitler (& by the way the Nazi party is not a party of conservatism, as anyone who's has studied Hitler's views knows; the full name is "National Socialist German Workers' Party"; keyword Socialist!!!!)
It is also a fact that many around Jared Loughner were scared and worried about his dangerous mental condition, such as his classmates.

The bottom line is this attempted murder and murder of 6 others including U.S. District Judge John Roll of which this is a despicable act that anyone who brings politics (especially based on lies and innuendos) into this tragedy is just plain sick and evil.

Sheriff Dupnick’s irresponsible remarks following this tragedy point to someone who should be standing in the unemployment lines (this guy is an official? He appears to more of a muck raking sleaze to me!!). Sheriff Dupnick needs to be removed from office!

PayPal Dishonesty; Fraud, Customer Service; Review, Positives and Negatives

PayPal Positives and Negatives (especially Customer Service)

First let me state that I am a PayPal merchant with multiple users on our business PayPal account. We have over 6 years experience as a PayPal merchant, resulting in much experience with the good and bad of being a PayPal merchant.

If you purchase much at all online, whether with the many small to medium size independent retail or even wholesale business or via eBay, you likely are quite familiar with PayPal.

PayPal has much to offer, from both a customers and sellers perspective.

From a buyers perspective, PayPal allows one to save information so as to avoid refilling address, credit or other information. As well there is the trust that your information is secure on their servers, unlike many unknown self hosted shopping carts found on many websites.

As a buyer you can also choose to either maintain funds in PayPal, have funds withdrawn from a credit card, or have funds withdrawn form a bank checking account (or debit card).
Personally I prefer the first two options as the third option (checking/debit card) places the funds on hold for as long as a week before they are released to the seller, thus slowing one's purchase from being able to ship.

From a Sellers perspective*PayPal offer website integration that is second to none (this includes Google Checkout which falls way short of PayPal here).

*PayPal offers simple hosting of convenient shopping carts and credit card processing all in one, instead of cart hosting and then a second transaction processor.

*PayPals fees are also competitive and their method of funds transfer is very simple and provides for easy bookkeeping, unlike most bank credit card processors or Google Checkout.
*Also PayPals easy links to print packing slips/invoices and process orders is a service that is very helpful, and time saving. Their Virtual Terminal is also an excellent service.

Sadly though, PayPal has some major negatives (especially from the sellers perspective), and all these negatives can be summed up in one category and that is Customer Service.

PayPal has not seemed to figure out that they are working for the seller and seem to think that the seller is lucky to have them based on their condescending and often arrogant responses to phone or email help (much of which often goes unanswered).

PayPal also does not seem to realize that they benefit from a sellers success and by listening to their sellers instead providing condescending or no responses can also improve PayPal's bottom line (financially speaking).

Here is a List of just a few areas where PayPal needs to listen to their Sellers

Often the PayPal Payment Received Page cannot be reached until the computer cache and more is cleared, this happens multiple times per week and costs each of my employees at least 15 valuable minutes to re-start all the browser tabs to get back "in the groove" and process orders

Often we cannot ship certain orders due to an error that can never be cleared, this results in us having to process orders elsewhere (including setting up a Stamps.com account due to the frequency of this problem and other related issues)

Inability to switch to another shipper if we are sending a replacement part.

Example, if we ship a large UV Sterilizer via Fedex (our primary shipper) and it arrives with a broken UV bulb/lamp, it is more cost effective and quicker to ship this replacement bulb via USPS First Class, however PayPal refuses to offer this option

Performing updates to PayPal's processing site (for sellers) at times such as late Sunday night to early Monday morning. The updates often extend into Monday morning business hours, resulting in an inability to process orders on Mondays (the busiest day), then when we & others call PayPal with the result of the customer service representative acting like it is no big deal; "just check back in a few hours".
Sorry we have paid staff sitting around which costs us $$, as well we have clients we have promised to get packages out for that we now have to apologize to. This type of response is the height of arrogance on customer service at PayPal's part
Lack of any quick print feature to add/print all shipping fees at the end of the month (this would save at least two hours of valuable employee time)
PayPal does not send email notification of a sale in about 1 out of 50 sales, while this is a minor problem, PayPal's dishonest responses to this problem are

Addition of more shipping tiers; this would allow for more spread of fees that would allows us to charge more accurate prices for shipping on the higher purchases while keeping the low value sales at as low of a shipping price as possible. We figure this would save at $100s of dollars in shipping and really help our bottom line, however this is where PayPal has been especially arrogant in their responses stating that we need to set up a separate cart host, but they sadly miss the point of why we use PayPal in the first place; integration. If we were to spend the money and time to over haul our 100s of web pages, we might as well switch to another credit card processor.

Even more bluntly (& where the arrogant Obamanites at PayPal miss the point), if we are going to spend the $1000s to over haul our websites as we have already had a web designer hosting service already provide a quote, why would we use PayPal Pro , rather as suggested by this web designer (& others), use our own bank and avoid PayPals most aggregious issue; Fraud Protect for sellers and outright participation in fraud!!

This brings me to the next point, seller protection; PayPal offers terrible seller protection from scammers, unlike separate processors I have used in my 30 years of running retail businesses.

In one case PayPal allowed a scammer to keep an aquarium medication that was still within the best used date and still refunded all fees and shipping plus a $10 reversal fee. In this case the so-called customer purchased Triple Sulfa for their Bettas Dropsy (which our information pages clearly state is incorrect), when her betta supposedly died, she claimed this was due to the fact the best used by date was only a month away (keep in mind that most medications are effective well past their best used by date). She wanted to return this, which we offered to take it back (even though opened) as a customer service knowing we could use it in-house or for our aquarium maintenance company. However she demanded that we pay for both her return shipping and her time to go down to the post office (all this for a $8 aquarium medication, of course we refused and she filed a claim with PayPal and her credit card that resulted in a free product and us out shipping, product and the reversal fee.
Sorry PayPal, this is clearly fraud, for which you need to stand up to, even if it incurs a loss on your part.

HOWEVER, I should note that an extremely honest PayPal employee did finally reverse this case of fraud and all fees charged about 15 months later, so although this was a bit late, I have to admit a "better late than never" and at least this one person is a credit to PayPal.

Inability to block scammers or other problem so-called customers;
Even if PayPal cannot or refuses to do a better job in fraud prevention, they at least could help us by allowing us to block this often repeat scammer from purchasing (via their email address).
This service is already in place and has been in place for years at eBay, so bluntly there is no excuse for this not being implemented with their online retailers or other non-eBay retailers accepting PayPal.
Implementation of this could save us much $$ in employee time or losses due to fraud/scams. Sadly, this would also save PayPal, since many of these persons are repeat offenders and PayPal could also save in employee time and chargeback fees, so there is NO REASONABLE EXPLANATION for the lack of such a feature!!

I could add more to this list, but I hopefully made my point that although PayPal has many positives, they can be so much better if they simply chose to improve their customer service and realize that their business can be improved by listening to their clients by fixing issues that affect the bottom line ($$) of sellers.

The bottom line is if you are new to online selling and you are considering PayPal as your shopping cart processor, I would recommend reconsidering until PayPal has a change of management practices where by they show at least some interest in the success of their online retailers (that pay their fees and keep PayPal employed)!

Update 11/15/11

As of November 15, 2011, PayPal has required ALL businesses shipping via PayPal to login and out of eBay, worse ANY business with more than one employee must use the same administrative login. This mean we or any larger company MUST give out passwords to all employees, thus providing critical access employees that might be new or simply not to a level of trust for such information.

In speaking with a PayPal Supervisor, I received the usual condescending Obamanite rhetoric.

Why PayPal made such a decision without polling their merchants has got to be one of the biggest corporate blunders I can think of.

This said, we are now moving all our USPS shipping to stamps.com (we already shipped our larger packages via FedEx). In speaking to a stamps.com employee (not to mention the unusually long wait time), it is apparent that other merchants are leaving PayPal shipping in masse.

Update 10/19/11

In a case where an international customer received products that were damaged in shipping, this customer made the mistake of filing a claim with PayPal, rather than contacting us and working this out via our excellent return policy.

PayPal was very arrogant once again and was adamant in usurping our policy, despite the fact that our policy would have allowed for pictures to prove the damage (which he later provided, but unfortunately too late).
The result is this customer must now pay for international shipping back to us to get a FULL refund.
This is a LOOSE- LOOSE situation as the customer is now out the shipping, and we will be forced to give a full refund even though only partial damage occurred.

Come on PayPal, show some integrity and allow us to first honor our excellent customer service!!

Update 9/02/11

*We still get the same arrogant responses from PayPal as per website integration improvements (again making the silly back door suggestions that then remove the main positive for PayPal; front door website integration!)

*But worse, the fraud protection continues to fail at PayPal.
We still get many scammer customers that will make purchases at say 3 am and then file a non receipt claim at 4 am (PayPal will also gladly go along with the scam/fraud), however these are easy since we have not shipped at this hours and we simply refund and refuse business with this customer (sadly PayPal still refuses to block these customers as they can/do at eBay)

However as of this update PayPal is once again participating as clear a case of fraud as one can define fraud.

*In August of 2011, we had a customer purchase a 13 Watt GX23 UV Bulb, which we correctly sent, however this customer realized they ordered the wrong Bulb (they needed the G23 13 Watt), and rather than send this one back for exchange (which we are more than happy to do at our Return Shipping expense), they filed a claim against us via PayPal of which PayPal accepted and found against us.
We are now currently out the bulb, our shipping and OUR money/funds.
Worse yet the EXTREMELY rude PayPal manager that we spoke with (Michelle), would not hear any of the evidence or facts and kept cutting us off and reciting PayPal policy and even later hung up on us.
All I can say is WOW; how morally corrupt and lacking in customer service can a company be!

*Another customer made a purchase of a 9 watt UV bulb a couple days ago, then we shipped to the CONFIRMED (as per PayPal) address. Today we find our funds placed on hold after PayPal fraudulently allowed a non receipt claim go through (it has not even been the 7 days PayPal suggests too!!). What is worse is the scammer is re-routing the package, so who knows if this will ever come to resolution since delivery to the confirmed address is now impossible.
PayPal should no better and also the customer service agent I first spoke with should no better than to defend such fraudulent activity.
SHAME on PayPal (& where are the Lawyers that claimed to go to law school to "make a difference" that should be filing a class action lawsuit against PayPal for just this type of activity).

Midterm Elections 2010; Will we finally get it right?

With the midterm elections around the corner as of this blog post, I am hopeful that we as a nation, state, county, and city may at least get it right in more than 50% of elections.
What I mean by “right” is not to vote for necessarily a Republican, but a candidate or ballot initiative that clearly understands true Conservative American values. By true conservative that does not mean going back to the do nothing status quo of backing the often corrupt banking and insurance industries while ignoring family businesses that are the back bone of this nation such as many RINO Republicans like Greg Walden (R- Representative, OR).
The only reason the narcissist socialist, borderline communist, pathological liar like Obama could even come into power with his lies, was he offered “Hope & Change” for the many persons sick and tired of RINO hypocrites (again using persons such as Greg Walden or Gordon Anderson), that do not understand true Conservative values.

Obviously the media are doing all they can to keep the socialists in power, even attacking RINO republicans such as Meg Whitman, who although I do not care for many of her views, she has at least played by the liberal playbook as per following the laws of the land when it comes to dealing with our illegal immigration problem, yet has been slammed by the media and may lose to an extreme loon by the name of Jerry Brown (ex Governor “Moon Beam”).
On a positive note, despite the media help, one of the Kings of sleaze; Harry Reid is running behind in his senate race in Nevada.

Sadly in my State (Oregon), Jim Huffman is running a terrible campaign letting Senator Wyden get away with his socialist anti-business, anti-freedom, anti-brain activity votes for Obama Care, the totally socialist (& brain dead) Cap & Trade Bill, and the bail outs & government take over of business. I seriously doubt Huffman is going to pull this off since he either will not or cannot counter Wyden’s lame claims of how he has helped Oregon (despite his desperation to destroy America with his votes).
Also in Southern Oregon we have Greg Walden spending a lot of money in a race where he has no discernable opposition (this money would be much better spent with another campaign such as Huffman’s, which is why I never contribute to the Republican Party). Sadly, I believe Walden is worried many will finally see that he is not the conservative he claims to be, rather an arrogant liar with no interest the “little guy” of true conservatism. While I doubt this will happen, I hope (& pray) that many voters in Oregon’s 2nd Congressional District will “do the right thing” and either right in a candidate or write in “Other”.
Also here in Oregon, Peter DeFazio (whom I had always have thought to have a little more integrity than many of the Socialist Democrats such as Reid/Pelosi) is running a sleazy campaign against Art Robinson rather than defend his own record such as his vote for Obama Care (on a positive note, DeFazio at least went against the brain dead, science bending socialists in his party by voting against “Cap & Trade”). If Peter DeFazio has any integrity left, he would run on his record and let the chips fall where they may.

Finally, if the Tea Party and the other mixed bag of conservatives and RINO Republicans push the socialists now running this country out of power, I sure hope they finally take these actions:
• Have a spine and stand up to pork spending,
• stand up to the Insurance and Banking industry, while standing with small businesses (by not giving tax breaks to companies such as Home Depot while ignoring small business’ that pay better and often treat their staff better and most importantly are the back bone of this Nation; are you reading this Grants Pass City Council?)
• Stand up to the liberals pals in the legal profession (passing badly needed Tort Reform),
• Maybe at least attempt to understand the spirit of Luke 10:25-37 (the parable of the good Samaritan), many RINOs need to read this one, such as Greg Walden
• Stand up to pro-illegal immigration lobby
• Stand up FOR Israel
• Stop listening to media and liberal definitions of what conservatism is and follow true conservatism
• Perform badly needed health insurance reform, but not the anti-small business, pro big government take over of Obama Care. We need tort reform, ease of regulations, all the while forcing insurance companies to be responsible and show some morals. I personally do not think health insurance is a right, but it should be available to those who seek it responsibly, which in many cases it is not. As well a person should not stay in a poor work environment (such as BiMart) for the reason for health insurance, it should be affordably portable (which it is not, despite some political claims).

Considering his socialist incompetence & narcissistic world views, it is not a complete list and will be less complete with likely continued failures. However I will attempt to update this as much as time allows (this will also include any necessary corrections should he change coarse). Of course some of his "failures" are a matter of perspective; however with minimal business experience, history knowledge, understanding of Judeo-Christian values, and simple honesty; it is difficult to deny the failings listed here.

Obama Delays Keystone Pipeline;
The Obama Administration delayed until after the 2012 elections the construction of the $7 billion Keystone XL pipeline that would bring in more than 700,000 barrels of oil per day from Alberta, Canada, to the Texas Gulf coast.
The result is delay of access to easy imports from Canada, the creation of thousands of jobs (even if short term), the generation of revenue for the states where the pipeline passes, less dependence upon foreign oil from less than friendly nations in the Middle East and Venezuela (these last two reasons should be a "no brainer" for anyone other than Obama, Harry Reid, or Nancy Pelosi (even the unions support this pipeline!!)

As well banking de-regulation in 2004 (admittedly under George W Bush) allowed financial institutions to make more risky investments/loans.

* President Obama used intelligence gleaned from interrogations he disagreed with to make the right decision to go after and kill Osama Bin Laden. He could have ignored this (as many of his past remarks/actions suggest he could have); however our President did the "right Thing";

*Turning over his actual Birth Certificate
While this controversy may not go away and while these documents may well be forged; either way this is a minor issue IMHO and detracts from serious debate of why in most cases this man is the worst president in our Nation's history.
For those to continue on with the issue of the Birth Certificate only destroys credibility and makes such persons appear as loony as the 9/11 "Truthers" (which so disgusts me it is beyond words)

These two positives still do not in any way make up for this list of failures & extreme leftist views & hatred of anyone who has achieved anything in life via hard work!

The attacks on the new immigration law passed by the state of Arizona from our “dishonest, lying president” and his politburo mainline media on down is downright sickening (of coarse as Carl Marx, the father of Communism said, "Control the Media and you will Control the People" so this is not a surprise).
While this law may not be perfect (& that is a may of interpretation, as most who have made derogatory comments clearly have not read this law based on their comments), all Arizona is attempting to do is bring law an order back to their state that has been plagued by crime as a result of the criminal element that has crossed into their state, as well even those who are otherwise good people are still sucking services from the legal residents of Arizona and elsewhere.
The picture to above/left shows a protest in Los Angeles, that despite some disingenuous photo shopping often shown via emails still tells a lot about political correctness versus upholding laws to protect our citizens & nation (please note that I photo shopped out the lower part of this sign which contained “We Will Shoot More Police in Arizona Until We Get Free”, as this appeared to be added by someone via Photoshop and IMHO is not only dishonest, but unnecessary as the protest against a state law to uphold our nations laws says it all, kind of like protesting a crackdown on DUI offenders with a new law after political correctness decides against enforcing DUI laws).

What is sickening to me is that during some very dark days financially after moving to Oregon to get a fresh start from even darker days in our family's past (& still with debts over $30,000 that were brought on by others), I attempted to receive Oregon Trail (Food Stamps) and was turned down even though our income was well under the poverty level for a family of our size, yet persons can come here by violating our immigration laws and get more help than I could ever dream of.
Please do not get me wrong, as someone who worked for almost two decades along with many immigrants from south of the border at a restaurant I maintained aquariums for (the Bahooka) and elsewhere, I certainly understand the need to try and get here to better one's family and most of these persons were honest and hard working. HOWEVER I too have attempted to make my families life better and have broken NO laws, yet I am not worthy of anything (not that I want hand outs either).

We are a nation of laws that should be applied evenly, not in a politically correct way
As well our open borders policy makes it quite easy for Terrorists to enter our country bringing whatever tools of terror they choose along too.

One concern that many rightfully have is profiling, however I am sorry while our dishonest and lazy to downright evil media lie and cover up for the worst president in our nations history, they fail report the truth and will imply that 70 year old Tea Bag party members are potential terrorists ignoring what the profiles say would be a more likely terrorist.
Sorry but profiling is necessary to protect our citizens.
Where the concern has some merit is the fact that there are always going to be rogue police officers, but these are the minority and the law makes provisions for this.
To not enforce laws based on this concern is analogous to stating we should no longer have speed limits because there are dishonest and lazy officers (such as I have observed with the CHP in my monthly trips to Los Angeles along interstate 5 that will wait along the road for the most minor of speed infraction all the while I have witnessed reckless driver that are even reported not be stopped); so what do we do, just say no speed limits to stop this occasional abuse of authority;

I'm an Arizona state senator. I want to explain SB1070, Arizona's immigration bill, which I voted for and which was just signed by Gov. Jan Brewer.
Rancher Rob Krentz was shot to death on his ranch over a month ago and the shooter fled into Mexico. His family suspects a drug smuggler is responsible. I participated in a state Senate hearing two weeks ago on the border violence that is, and has been, sweeping our border communities for years. From those hearings, we learned that:

-- The people who live within 60 to 80 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border have been terrorized by the Mexican drug cartels and human smugglers. One rancher testified that 300 to 1,200 people cross his ranch every day, vandalizing his property, stealing his vehicles, cutting down his fences and leaving trash. He testified that in the last two years, he has found 17 bodies and, alarmingly, several copies of the Quran.

-- Another rancher testified that drugs are brought across his ranch in a military-style operation, with guards armed to the teeth. A point man with a machine gun goes in front, a half-mile behind are the fully armed guards, a half-mile behind them are the drugs, and behind the drugs are more guards. This was not the only rancher we heard who talked about the drug trains.

-- One man told of two border crossers who came on his property, one of them shot in the back and the other in the arm by drug runners who forced them to carry drugs and then shot them. They frequently hear gunfire at night and are afraid to leave their ranch for fear of what the smugglers will do to it.
The Border Patrol is not on the border. It has set up 60 miles away with check points that do nothing to stop the invasion. The officers are not allowed to use force in stopping anyone who is entering.

The national media do not report on these stories because it conflicts with their perception of the illegal immigration issue, which is based on an assumption that all illegal immigrants are law-abiding landscapers, maids and day laborers. While this is true in many cases, it is also true that our federal and state prisons and county jails are full of a disproportionate number of illegal immigrants who are committing a disproportionate number of crimes.

The federal government has failed to do anything substantive to help border states like Arizona. We have been overrun by immigrants and, once they are here, the state has the burden of funding services that they use. With a $3.5 billion state budget deficit, we have many difficult decisions to make, and one of those decisions is that we don't have the money to care for people who are not here legally.

This has to stop. The border can be secured. We have the technology, we have the ability to stop this invasion. We must know who is coming into the country, and they must come in an organized manner - legally, so that we can assimilate them into our population and protect the sovereignty of our country.
The national media has distorted, disfigured, and dismembered Senate Bill 1070 to the point that its reputation no longer bears any resemblance to what the bill actually does. Those who claim it is racist, or will foster a Nazi-state are themselves fostering unwarranted and irrational hysteria.

The fact is that Senate Bill 1070 merely makes it a state crime to be in the United States illegally. It also explicitly prohibits law enforcement officials from solely considering race, color, or national origin in determining immigration status.
Many lawmakers who supported SB1070, including me, also support amnesty, but not until we secure the border. Failing to secure the border only moves us closer to some form of a North American Union with no borders and no national sovereignty. Many of those protesting SB1070 have called for just that.
Maybe it is too late to save America. Maybe we are not worthy of freedom anymore. But as an elected official, I must try to do what I can to protect our Constitutional Republic.

Living in America is not a right simply because you walk across the border. Being an American is a responsibility. Freedom is not free.

I say to all those calling for a boycott of Arizona, such as the City of San Francisco, is to boycott these entities. We were considering a trip down the coast this summer and San Francisco will NOT be a part of this. Sadly I know of others who plan to boycott San Francisco or the any basketball games that the Phoenix Suns basketball team participates in, but you will never here this in the media either, only of those boycotting Arizona and the Hotels reporting convention withdrawals.

I think one of my biggest pet peeves is lack of honesty and person that are in authority to expose the truth that instead either hide or cover up the truth or distort the truth by taking what others say out of context. Even with subjects that are still open to debate, hiding facts that might sway another to see more merits of another side (even if not yet a proven a fact) is also disgusting.

This also includes judges, police officials, & major media outlets (that are supposed to be the guardians of free speech and the open discussion of facts and news) are no longer trustworthy.
This is not a right or left issue, as I know many persons that call themselves Republicans that are just as guilty of this. In my opinion a “true” conservative would not talk down & would champion any cause that is in their power to correct. Hopefully the Republican Party has gotten this message, however RINO false conservative Republicans such as Greg Walden of Oregon are still in office and still supported by the Republican Party (which is why I never donate to the Republican Party, rather to individual campaigns).

The problem of honesty has also made it hard to know who to trust, such as with a Pro Israel Website I have supported and promoted where I took many of what they stated as gospel truth since I did not have the time to fact check them, only to get a nasty totally dishonest distortion of what Rush Limbaugh stated on his radio show about Haiti relief.
Even after being told that he should read the transcripts (for proof) the author chose to believe media lies and distortions, this is even more disgusting as we all get thing s wrong, but when corrected, this shows the true humility and integrity of an individual to admit they were wrong. Needless to say I will never trust what this person says again since he cannot apologize even when many persons confront him with the truth..

Even on a personal level, believing rumors or turning one’s back on another can destroy a person for life. I know my family has been devastated more than once by lies where the truth was so easy to discover (such as a call to person who know us intimately or a therapist for my daughter).
I also have a family member that had a major issue come up many years back where a so called Christian man (& Pastor I might) had the power to come to his aid, but chose to look the other way. This has destroyed his life to this very day to which all I can say is this man at Bethany Baptist Church in Southern California should be ashamed with his evil/immoral behavior when he had a chance to make life changing difference in a person’s life.

Here are just few/points as to recent problems/example of this behavior

• The media lies about Rush Limbaugh that is spread out of utter hate for this man.
While I do not always agree with Limbaugh (especially in his optimism as to one’s chance of success in the USA as well as looking the other way in corporate corruption by Banks or Google), this still does not make it right to take out of context anyone’s comments.
In the most recent incident of Haiti Relief one might argue that he could show more empathy, this still does not make it right to state that he told person to not give to Haiti Relief when he did not and simply listening to his show (which I was that day) or reading transcripts is so easy to know the truth. He simply stated that we already give to Haiti through income taxes (which we do and most of this money rarely reaches those in the most need), as well he commented that there were better organizations that the whitehouse.gov site such as the many charitable organizations already there and that are more efficient (an example is Samaritans Purse whom I support).

While on the subject of Haiti relief, I find it sad on how the media jumps all over right-wing loons such as Pat Robertson but ignore Danny Glover who believes that the Haitian earthquake was caused by climate change and global warming. Here is a quote: “When we see what we did at the climate summit in Copenhagen, this is the response, this is what happens, you know what I'm sayin?”

• This brings me to how the media totally hid and refused to report one of the biggest scams in modern history; “The Global Warming Hoax/Farce”.
I never heard a word other than a few lame comments attempting to discredit the whistle blowers. Even if you might still agree with this, hiding facts makes one look even guiltier of dishonesty. Persons in a free country have a right to the facts and both sides of an argument.

• The way the many liberals in power will do and say anything to get what they want, even when the will of the majority of the people is against it.
An example is Martha Coakley's non-reaction to an assault on a Weekly Standard Reporter assault by one of her Goons, even though she knew that the reporter only was trying to ask a question.
Here is a photo showing Coakley looking at the reporter on the ground with the assailant standing there witnessing this, yet she denied seeing the attack happen. Sadly this lady is the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, in other words the number one law enforcement in this state.
As well I never heard any of this reported on Good Morning America, the Today show or other similar so-called news media.

Pushing a Health Care package using thug methods seems to be par for the coarse with or disgusting excuse for a President (Obama), Pelosi, Reid and others that care little for the surfs that they govern with contempt, and of coarse getting Martha Coakley elected is essential to this.
As well allowing backroom deals to allow unions to keep their premium insurance policies while placing a tax on others with similar Cadillac policies for private citizens.
The bribing for votes of senators such as the senator of Nebraska (Ben Nelson) is equally disgusting.

• I should also note that many Republicans are guilty of looking the other way to, such as the before mentioned RINO Republican Greg Walden or the many Republicans that carte blanche support many in corporate America such as Google, Bank of America and many more.
As to Banks, while the media and left wing of this country like to push the half truth that the collapse of the mortgage industry and banking industry in general was due to corporate greed, this missed the fact that Barney Frank and other in charge of banking in our Federal government forced bad loans upon these banks.
However this does not change the fact that many banks (not all though) such as Bank of America treat their employees like dog meat and will cheat consumers and businesses at every chance they can get; and with this problem many Republican Politians and right wing pundits will look the other way.

An example is the common practice of Credit Card fraud committed upon small businesses such as myself where so called “buyers” will make phony purchases online then report the sale as fraud (often keeping the merchandise) and the Banks (such as B of A) will even charge the innocent retailer $10 for a reversal fee. Recently I had a transaction come through that failed fraud tests, but to make sure we contacted the buyer in multiple attempts (documented too), yet the so-called buyer filed a fraud complaint after we already refunded the money back to his bank due to his lack of response, we were then charged $10 for this by his fraudulent bank.
I am told by our credit card processor that this is a common problem but the “banks can do what they want” and no government agency (Republican or Democrat) will correct this gravy train for banks.

Back to Google, pages can be written about the fraud committed by this company such allowing Adsense on plagiarized websites, making "search" updates that favor only large companies and website "scrapers", with the result of spammy, irrelevant, out of date, or downright incorrect websites coming up in search well ahead of good, relevant and researched content; this despite what the media goons that swoon over everything Google repeat like parrots. Searches such as "Aquarium Lighting", "UV Bulbs", & "Aquarium Planaria" are just a few proofs of this.

In Summary, while I believe this problem is only getting worse, especially with the election of the most corrupt President and Congress in our Nations history, this will not go away as long as the average person is shielded from the truth by and even more dishonest media, as well as long as many Republicans cannot learn from the past and also look the other way when they have the opportunity to correct a problem (such as Gordon Anderson and Greg Walden of Oregon) and as long as many Republicans fail to understand what a “True Conservative” is or that there is a difference between being conservative and a capitalist (see: What is a True Conservative; Conservatism versus Capitalism) we as Nation or God fearing people are doomed to repeat these problems.

Grants Pass Police; Dishonesty, Corruption

Our society has many checks and balances, however sadly many of these fail when it comes to government organizations where the abuse of authority or power comes into play.
I have witnessed this with persons in the teaching profession where 95% are excellent, but a few bad apples can really soil the reputation of the good ones, however this is to be expected in any job or similar. The problem really starts when others that have the ability or authority to correct the situation choose to look the other way or worse, promote dishonest and immoral behavior

This brings me to the Grants Pass Police Department, while the vast majority of police, Sheriff, etc. are good honest and moral persons (& likely many in the GPPD as well), the Grants Pass Police has a terrible reputation and those in authority to stop the few bad apples refuse to. This includes Sergeants (one Sergeant in particular is a real power hungry a##), the Deputy Chiefs, the local courts, and the City Counsel/Mayor.

I will also admit I was in disbelief (as to rumors I heard about the GPPD) and hid my head in the sand as to the truth of the alleged corruption and arrogance of the GPPD (or at least those who had the authority to correct the known problem officers).
In my defense my first real contact came two years after moving to Grants Pass with officer Mike Miner. He was so professional, compassionate, and courteous that it led me to believe that ALL these persons comments about problems within the GPPD must be wrong (maybe this officer should be Chief, as I know he still works with the GPPD).

For those shaking their heads while reading this and wondering what I am talking about, let me give several alleged examples (a couple are my own, while other examples are from other upstanding community members here in Grants Pass, Oregon)

An upstanding citizen of Grants Pass (she ran a well known Day Care) had a malicious call that she was suicidal. The GPPD shows up at her home and rather than investigate this call for what it was (& considering what she does for a living), they hand cuffed her in front of her children, neighbors, & husband. The officers did not conduct an investigation by asking her kids, husband or neighbors, not did they ask the Pastor of the church that employed her as the director. These offices simply made a presumption of “guilt” and took her into a hospital for a psychiatric exam.
Upon release she called the Sergeant in authority at this time who (typical of the GPPD) treated her rudely and with contempt.

A local businessman parks in the parking lot at G and 6th Street to drop off packages for his business at the post office, he walks by several officers standing on 6th Street; upon return these same officers stop him and question him like he was a criminal, even though it was obvious what he was “up to”.

A lady is side swiped shortly after turning north on 7th from Manzanita, she has to chase down the other driver who was obvious distracted. She contacted the GPPD where the officer did not conduct a through investigation and instead cited her for an unsafe turn (not even considering the damage to her vehicle as proof)

I have sat in personally in traffic court and noted that one officer in particular (officer JJ) display his total lack of compassion, ability to tell the truth (even when evidence to the contrary is presented), and simply lack of morals and obvious power hungry abuse of power.

On July 30 2009 an out of control officer (he does not remember the name, but the dishonesty reeked of Officer Jamie J. & this name is whom he seems to remember) stopped an employee of mine for running a yellow light (not a red) and was rude, hassled him, and worst of all accused him of being on drugs since he was shaking from being nervous. It does not take a brain surgeon to recognize the difference between being nervous and taking drugs. Furthermore everyone who knows this young man knows that he is the nicest person you could meet without a mean bone in his body, as well he does not even touch a drop of alcohol, yet alone drugs.

Sergeant TH when complained to about Grants Pass Police abuse after an officer bangs on the back door of a home falsely accusing of using illegal fireworks is condescending and corrects the caller for using the word “officer” and stated that he must be addressed as “Sergeant”, if this is not a person with abuse of power problems, I do not know what is.
In this same incident he defended this officers actions (which admittedly although are wrong, was an innocent mistake as he did not know this families personal situation and why banging on the back door sent chills down their spines) by stating he can bang on “any door he wants to at any time”.
Sorry Sergeant TH, this is not the Peoples Republic of China, check your location as this is the United States of America!

I received a citation for following “To closely” in a minor accident that caused essentially not damage to the other vehicle (it happened under 15 mph), this accident occurred while under the extreme stress created by my daughter’s improper removal from our home by DHS
The Officer (JJ) (who lied in court again) never asked me what led up to this and showed ZERO compassion. As well Sergeant TH made up false claims as to insurance companies position and putting words in their mouths (both my insurance agent and my best friend works as a broker for Farmers have denied the officers statement), this classifies this as a lie IMO. Sadly I was in a similar accident where I was rear ended in this same truck several years back with no damage to my truck and moderate damage to his vehicle, the deputy who responded actually talked to us both and decided to not write the other driver a citation (this was at Don Julian Rd. & 7th Av. North in the City of Industry). No one would argue that going 36 in a 35 zone is speeding, however most reasonable persons would agree that writing a ticket for this would be abuse of authority, which in my view (besides the typical lack of compassion the GPPD displays) is what happened here.
I also looked up the legal definition of Careless or Reckless driving which this uncompassionate sergeant implied I could have been cited with rather than the “kinder” citation of following to close(which is a blatant lie) and they do not apply, especially Reckless Driving

I have been contacted by a friend who has worked as an executive in the insurance industry for decades that stated the Deputy Chief and other’s statement as to the insurance industry preferring that citations be issued regardless of whether a traffic violation was actually broken is an absolute lie.

As per the Grants Pass Courier Letters; a man who was traveling down 6th St, with his an infant and young child in the car. He spotted his wife & honked and waved at her and was immediately pulled over by a GPPD (probably Officer JJ). The man stated in his letter that the GPPD officer was extremely rude & obnoxious and even addressed the small child asking if he would like to see his father arrested. This behavior by the officer upset the child considerably.

There are many citizens that are also aware of Officer Jamie J. alleged selling of Steroids while the officer on duty at Grants Pass High.
Once again a cover up ensued and the local courts participated in the cover up of what in my personal experience as well as the many persons in town consider an extremely dishonest and slime of a human being that sadly disgraces the badge.

A lady with the Grants Pass Public Safety Department (the title of this department is laughable IMO based the total condescending lack of compassion here), wanted to argue that everyone else is wrong; which includes my previous attorney, LA Sheriff Deputies, to two insurance agents, to others I respect in the business community. Apparently only the GPPD has it right and everyone else is wrong.
This is also arrogant, and although she and others at GPPD may be correct on some points, however this "we" (GPPD) are right and everyone elsewhere is wrong attitude is despicable.

Complaints by a family about a person that harmed their family in many ways (including a young girl), have literally been laughed off by the GPPD.
Sergeant TH laughed in a phone call about this problem, likely due to the strange, sickly twisted manner of the continued emails sent by this person. Unfortunately this is not a laughing matter and any professional Police Officer would understand this as a dangerous person that can one day totally snap and the emails present prove this progression as well. Sadly this incident and the first noted about the Day Care Administrator really display the total incompetence, corruption and lack of morals displayed by what appears to be an inept police department.

Once again officer J.J. argues with a witness of a minor traffic collision outside Boatnik Festival telling the witnesses that they did not see what they saw???.
Comment: This officer just cannot help himself to stop his lying and making up stories to back up his corrupt behavior; is there no one in this department with the integrity top stand up to this guy and finally give him the boot?

What is also interesting to me (after this was pointed out by another citizen frustrated with our police department) is the number of Officers for a town of this size which I have been told is 35. When you consider that the Josephine county Sheriff’s Department does not have anywhere close to this number for about the same number of citizens and vastly more territory to cover, it has got to leave one scratching their heads if we have too many officers with too much time on their hands; this of coarse is an opinion, but a valid opinion/question for any reasonable person. The only way this is going to stop is not only for citizens to stand up and say “No More”, but for those reading this that are even considering visiting the heavily tourist dependent Grants Pass area to boycott Grants Pass. This will send a message that police corruption or dishonesty is not tolerated and soils the reputation of those elsewhere (& even in this department that likely are forced to be quiet) that strive for excellence and morality.

In Summary; I am not saying all the officers are bad, dishonest, corrupt or whatever adjective one would choose, I suspect that the majority GPPD officers are good moral persons, however the buck stops at the top and when the top makes excuses, lies or denies the laws of the United States in defense of bad officers, then we clearly have a problem of alleged corruption or at the very least blatant dishonesty & indifference. I also certainly do not want to encourage a "piling on" as the liberal media has falsely done with sheriff Joe Arpaio (of Arizona).

If this department wants to clean up its act, I can think of at least two officers in particular that should be in the unemployment lines (Officer JJ and Sergeant TH). Worse if something were to happen in the case of second to last complaint listed here, the City of Grants Pass will be liable for a lawsuit (especially in lieu of what happened in Tucson since this guy has much in common); is this what this town can afford?
I have already instructed my children (especially my child that attends GPHS) to avoid Officer J J (since he has already proven his total lack of character to me and others) & and Sergeant TH. If either of these scum approaches them seeking to speak, for my kids to call 911 and ask for the Sheriff department.
BTW, after showing these incoming emails from this predator whom Sergeant TH found so entertaining, most have been horrified as to that something has not been done and how dangerous this person is;
my point is Sergeant Todd H is clearly scum especially as of Jan of 2012, this dangerous person is still attempting to contact my family that this scum with a badge could care less about!

Sadly we had a solo accident in front of our home (Spring of 2011) involving a drunk driver (our maple tree was damaged), but since no one was hurt, both me and my wife decided to not get involved based on our terrible experience in the past with the GPPD. I still feel bad that we feel that calling 911 is a bad choice in this town, but unfortunately ours and others treatment by our so-called police department has made us feel this way; Is this how a local police force should condition their community to feel???

Hopefully those reading this post will do the right thing; either boycott Grants Pass, call their City Council Person (if they live in Grants Pass, OR), or even call the GPPD to complain.

OR better hopefully the City Council will DO THEIR JOB AND GET RID OF THE PROBLEM OFFICERS, as well as make changes that does allow future problems of this sort, so that I can remove this blog post that I do not enjoy posting since I have otherwise always been big supporter of law enforcement!
If there has been some "house cleaning" and the alleged problem officers have "moved on" please comment on this blog (although I know Officer JJ is still around as of Jan. 2012).

The Man-Made Global Warming Crowd is up to their BS again with another "study" that manipulates the data. This time MSNBC is behind this scam with this article:

Bluntly both sides of this argument can manipulate the data, but what this Man-Made Global Warming Crowd is doing is to only use urban data then extrapolate this to raw rural data that actually shows cooling.

As well many fewer "reporting stations" are now used to prove their misguided points.

Finally only data from the Northern Hemisphere is often used, ignoring data in the Southern Hemisphere that shows cooling.

From my reading of this I get an honest unbiased explanation of how the "numbers" are arrived at, readers can draw their own conclusions (which may well be to believe the Man-Made Global Warming assertions).

I will not go into great detail as there is so much about “ClimateGate” flooding the email that I will simply be repeating information.

I would like to point out several points about what this information brings to life as well as other disputing evidence:

• I constantly have heard/read that the “scientific consensus” is that Man Made Global Warming is True, HOWEVER I should point out that true science is NOT based on consensus, rather controlled tests that put in place many variables along with controls. Science is NOT up for a vote.
Most scientists thought the world was flat a few centuries back, did this make this true?

In my field of endeavor (aquarium/pond keeping), I have spent over 30 years in research that includes controlled tests that proved many popular myths untrue whether it be the “watt per gallon myth for planted or reef aquarium lighting or the many who will make claims about certain medications (such as Erythromycin curing their fish of Columnaris) when controlled tests prove this false. The problem is that in these anecdotal claims many will not consider the many variables (such as water changes and other procedures that equipped the fish to fight the disease better due to improved environment or simply the disease was not the disease that they claimed it was).
My point in getting somewhat off subject is that it is easy to make claims with anecdotal observations or doctored tests and in my industry this is an extreme problem and I suspect that this same problem exists in the Global Warming Myth pusher industry (which in part is made up of socialists that hate American Prosperity or often simply persons with much monetarily to gain from this hoax).

• I have already read/heard many attacks on the whistle blowers. Why is Not OK to blow the whistle here on the Global Warming Hoax Pushers while it is OK to blow the whistle based on lame comments such as it is “the seriousness of the charges” when made by liberal/socialist groups or media. This is totally hypocritical and is also how many DHS/DCS government agencies act with no regard to families that they may destroy.
Also, all of this information was subject to Freedom of Information requests, and they were deleting information that would harm them. They were deleting information and fighting the release.

• These emails also expose bullying of those who disagree with the politically correct mantra of the Global Warming Hoax by scientists who dare argue the so-called facts

• Claims of pier review are disingenuous by those such as Ed Begley Jr as these emails, Al Gore, and others have kept a lid on any real pier review

• One example of manipulating data to attempt prove incorrect theories was the use Yamal trees in Siberia that formed the basis for revising the 2,000-year-old temperature record, the number of trees used were three. The global warming scientists used the rings of THREE trees, and they cherry-picked those three trees to prove what they wanted to be able to prove, and they ignored other trees which did not establish what they were trying to prove. They took three trees. That’s all they could find. Three trees perpetrated a global warming hoax at every university in this country.

• It is also noteworthy that the Earth hits its peak temperature at the end of the last millennium and is now cooling.
Sulfur Dioxide is a pollutant that we should be more worried about as this is not only unhealthy to breath, it has been more scientifically proven to cause Global Cooling and many countries such as China dump copious amounts of this pollutant into our atmosphere.

• Man made vs. Natural Causes: While there is no denying global warming, what most miss is the cause and effect of CO2 in that there is always a lag in CO2 from warming and while admittedly the CO2 produced will then warm and produce even more CO2 (via degassing of Oceans), there are other processes that counteract CO2 such as plant photosynthesis (which I can demonstrate on a small scale in an aquarium by artificially adding CO2 at a much higher percentage than is currently in the atmosphere).
Many sites such as Skeptical Science will provide small fragments such as the already discredited tree ring date from Siberia to attempt to prove their points as to “man caused”, while missing the big picture of the normal ebb and flow and more significant causes such as solar activity. Sadly besides the obvious socialist underpinnings of the man made global warming hoax, it is also clear to me (& others) that this is also a case of persons placing way to much significance on our powers and abilities when is reality we are so insignificant in terms of the powers around us on this planet or the universe (whether believe in a Supreme Being or not). This is not to say we should pollute or simply waste, as others who have known me throughout my life no that I have recycled everything (I have had a compost pile for almost 30 years now), however I also realize that while this is important for a clean community/planet and cutting carbon monoxide is important for our health, the Man Made Global Warming Hoax is a far cry from good stewardship of our natural resources, it is simply put a socialist take over of our economy and a way to tax us further into oblivion.

• Glaciers were smaller than today, as the global retreat of glaciers that occurred in the period between about 900 to 1300 speaks for the existence of the Medieval Warm Period. An interesting detail is that many glaciers pulling back since 1850 reveal plant remnants from the Middle Ages, which is a clear proof that the extent of the glaciers at that time was lower than today

US Cellular Poor Customer Service, Cell Phone Industry

The Cell Phone Industry is a strange industry in terms of what they “get away with” and this is not just my opinion, but one I have heard expressed by Leo Laporte (“The Tech Guy”). Customer service is often poor (as with Cable TV/Internet companies such as Charter), charges for services rendered are often of poor value (especially for the use of “apps”), and even though the technology for phones such as the iPhone or Blackberry is impressive, simple uses of the cell phone for simply making and retaining a voice phone call is really no better than it was a decade ago with many providers (for which it is still a phone IMO).

In my part of the world (the Pacific Northwest), US Cellular really takes the cake as far as poor quality, dishonesty and terrible customer service, and again this is not just my opinion, but that of many friends, business associates, and consumer web sites (see below for references).

What is especially sad/disgusting is that US Cellular has run ads about their so-called great customer service comparing the training their reps receive to that of an airplane pilot.
Well as a pilot I am insulted as this (US Cellular Customer service) would more compare to a pilot with VFR only flight ability that takes off into IMC (instrument meteorological conditions) and then losses control of the aircraft and crashes.

I have had nothing but dropped calls during my business trips or even while in local areas, as well all of these dropped calls happened within their so-called coverage map areas (usually major interstates, etc, major cities, etc.). Worse yet my phones have lost all ability to send or receive calls until I move to a totally different area of towers (even within US Cellular covered areas).
Sadly when I call customer service I got the run-around and even lies such as claiming they have no control of the phone in areas outside of US Cellular coverage areas.
This is a bold faced lie on two points;
(1) I was within the US Cellular area when it happened the last time and a tech person who stated they would call me back (on my wife’s phone) never kept his promise, which is typical.
(2) In areas outside US Cellular, they claim that “they only provide for no roaming charges, not coverage guarantees”. If this is true (which maybe in fine print it may well be so), STOP showing coverage maps that imply your phone will work in these areas, this is blatant deception.
Funny part of this I am now on Verizon and these problems no longer exist in the exact same areas where US Cellular was roaming on Verizon towers (not that their coverage is perfect either though).

I (& my wife) have also had rude treatment at their customer service centers.
In other instances I have had apps such as “IQ Test” added to our phone on a permanent basis without authorization and when I called about this they made claims that we did add this via MySpace or similar (I am not on MySpace), they also stated that customers “enjoyed” this service. My answers is what service, this fee provided NOTHING but a higher bill each month. It took multiple calls to finally get this removed.

With two of our US Cellular phones both me and my wife purchased (the same model kyocera), we had issues with from day one which after a couple months both of us brought them in for repair/replacement; US Cellular had the audacity to charge us $50 claiming we broke them which could not be further from the truth (especially since these problems were prevalent from the start). Later I found that this particular model was considered a lemon and pulled from US Cellular, but did we get a refund for fees charged to repair a defective phone? Of coarse not!!

I could go on, but I think I made my point, maybe calls to your congressman to make contracts much easier to get/opt out of will stop the terrible behavior that Cell Phone companies get away with that others business could never do. I only put up with this due to the costs and hassles in changing Cell Phone companies (which many others I know can vouch for this reason for not switching). Thankfully laws were changed that allowed portability of cell phone numbers, to which I salute the person that brought forth this law.

I think making it easier switching of providers, or breaking of monopolies, such as with the Cable industries, electric providers (Pacific Power has terrible customer service and dishonest charges), etc. can go a long ways in aiding the consumer in fighting these companies and provide the true “Conservative/Honest” side of capitalism instead of what is provided now.

The debate on heath care reform in full swing, with Obama, Reid and Pelosi leading the way with lies to try and push through reforms with little disclosure of what is contained within the different proposals.
Do not get me wrong, I think something needs to be done (this includes reform of the insurance industry), as often many self employed persons have been given the shaft by dishonest insurance companies with such statements as “pre-existing conditions” (that often are not even based on correct medical reports!)
However a takeover by the economy by the US government is far from the answer!

Let me address some corrections to pundits and some thoughts I have about this problem.

• I heard a comment by a caller to the Sean Hannity show state in response to Hannity’s point to look at the USPS and its inefficiency; “Fedex and UPS managed to compete with USPS dominance, why shouldn’t insurance companies with a Federal insurance plan”.
First of all the deck was not stacked against Fedex or UPS the way the insurance companies as the Health Reform plans would be. Second as an international retail shipper, I know that USPS (along with foreign postal services) does have the deck stacked against Fedex/UPS by allowing much lower costs and more importantly requiring harmonized codes, long forms, custom brokers, etc. that increase costs (including the cost of time) making shipping via USPS almost the only way we or our customers can afford (except for a few that are so frustrated with postal service destruction of packages, lack of tracking, etc that they will pay the much higher fees).
The bottom line is when the playing field is even, fine, but this is not the case with the Senate and congressional proposals that will likely lead to businesses bailing out of private insurers, as well as IRS enforcement of extreme penalties for non participation (and few intelligent persons can argue the extreme corruption within the IRS)

• Life expectancy based on age; this is where some pundits on the right side of the aisle have argued to look at comparisons between the US and the UK (Great Britain; which has socialized medicine).
Using male expectancy at birth the UK (77.16) leads the USA (74.81), however when you look at a male at age 60 (whom has made it past other factors that include accidents, homicide, etc.), the gap is almost non existent. The adjusted life expectancy from age 60 for a USA male is 80.42 while a UK male is 81.06.
What this indicates is that the better medical care in the USA closes this gap.

• I also should note that from my perspective, rarely does the governments get it right, even with good intentions. My own dealing with DHS/DCS (Department of Children’s Services), shows an agency that may have good intentions, but is so corrupt with an anti family agenda that they “rarely can get it right”.

• That said, the Republicans with their arrogance towards many of their constituents does not bode well for trust of many of them to get it right either.
Greg Walden of Oregon is a good example of a republican I would never vote for, he nor his staff would rather condescend to person such as myself about understanding accounting (I never got less than an A in accounting in either high school or college) , rather than correct major flaws in another corrupt government run organization; “the Food Stamps Program” which is skewed against anyone self employed

Suggestions

• Allow insurance agencies to compete across state lines

• Do not allow insurance companies to only insure the “cream”. In other words if insurance companies want to play they MUST insure all or give up rights to insure ANY (and this includes all forms of insurance such as auto, home so that if they want to stay in business they cannot play the games that they so often do at others expense). This is not to say they must charge equal charges any more than a driver with multiple accidents should get the same rate someone with a perfect rate does. However this is not a perfect analogy since poor driving is a choice, in many cases contracting a disease is not (although not in all cases here either)

• Tort Reform; correct the many problems with outrageous lawsuits that drive up medical costs (& not just for doctors, but medical manufacturers).
This reform should include hospitals that cannot even mange to diagnose the most basic of conditions and then fail to bill the insurance companies and then sue the patient later (this actually happens, such as with a poorly managed hospital in Gold Beach Oregon). There needs to be a public binding arbitration to manage these low quality medical providers.

• Allow both a government backed tax free medical saving plan combined with government subsidies possibly with a 1% employee and 1% employer FDIC increase (this is where I actually would support a tax increase). This would be used to allow self employed, uninsured, persons with so-called “pre-existing conditions” a chance to by real health insurance.
This “Government Aid/Subsidy” would NOT be a government option, rather simply a way of providing someone who has lost their job, is self employed (yet below the poverty level via real accounting methods unlike the dishonest food stamp program), etc. aid with purchasing/keeping existing insurance plans.

• Full portability of insurance, this should include a similar grace period (like the 6 months of unemployment) regardless of reason of discharge from an employer (except for a crime). This would improve many lives and allow those stuck in cr## jobs the ability to leave as MANY persons remain in jobs only to keep insurance. This not only can degrade health via constant stress, but also keeps potential great employees out of the job market or even entrepreneurship that can lead to a better economy only because a person fear to “move on” and thus loose health insurance coverage (often moving on means leaving for a small company without health insurance, but with a lot of personal growth potential).

In my opinion, losing a job or being self employed should not mean lack of ability to seek medical care. In fact a small business going out of business for medical bankruptcy hurts everyone, including those employed by this company (including potential future employees and tax revenue lost).

In Summary; these are just a few humble suggestions from a very small voice crying in the wilderness that unfortunately likely never to be heard from those in power, either on the left or the right side of the aisle (politically speaking). Sadly their agendas are too much for them to take an honest look at these suggestions.
I might also add that in my circle of business and friend contacts that these suggestions are not mine alone, but those of a very large silent group of Americans that have been left behind by their government representatives and the extremely corrupt media.

Grants Pass Schools; North Middle, Parkside

Grants Pass Schools; Thanks to North Middle, Parkside Elementary

In this post I would like to express my thanks to North Middle School and Parkside Elementary School of Grants Pass Oregon for the many of the staff’s excellent care of my children, in particular Timothy (who has high functioning autism) and Danielle (who is/was also need some special education).

While this may not seem like much to point this out, I would like to preface this post by stating my school years were terrible with one teacher who was beyond reprehensible (many of my classmates have confirmed this at my most recent reunion), as well Michelle has had difficulties with poor school staff care at GPHS and at Palm School in Hacienda Heights, CA.
So for me this is very refreshing to see excellent staff care by these two schools.

Starting with Parkside Elementary School, both Timothy and Danielle has had excellent teachers starting with Mrs. Hammervold for his first grade class who was an awesome Christian that showed both love, yet firmness he needed (she also has a special needs child herself which probably helps with her understanding). Timothy finished school with Mr. Pinster who also was excellent in dealing with Timothy’s difficulties such as not understanding when to speak.
The special education teacher is Mrs. Cutillo who although she had a difficult start with Timothy, she never gave up and really tried with the best of her abilities to help both us (me and my wife Joanne) and others at school mainline Timothy.
Mrs. Cutillo also did an excellent job with Danielle, although she was much easier to work with, so it is her work with Timothy that impressed me over the years.
The year end trip to the coast to see tide pools full starfish and other sea life (as well as Ocean World and more) for graduating 5th graders is a neat event as well that provided my kids with awesome memories

Joann Pilcher was the vocal music instructor who did an excellent job with Danielle and deserves our thanks as well.
Finally the principle is Diane Mease whom took much over her valuable time to help with Timothy.

North Middle School has had all three of my kids. Michelle (my oldest) was home schooled by my sister who is a College instructor by profession as she was not ready for elementary school when we first moved here while Dr. Safko counseled her through difficulties thrust upon her while in the Los Angeles area (he still continues to see her as of this blog entry and does an excellent job in earning her trust, while attempting to help her deal with her the past and more importantly how she deals with the present).

Starting with the principle; Mr. Dan Smith, I cannot say enough about him, as I consider him a friend and probably the best principle anyone could ask for their children.
He is a compassionate and understanding person who understands others struggle in (he also has a special needs child, which I personally think helps him understand others). It is clear he loves the kids in his charge and treats them, his staff, and parents with respect, as well he is a good Christian man that does not wear this on his sleeve, rather he shows this through his actions (which is what I believe the Bible truly asks of us).

There are too many teachers to name them all and although some have not been as good as others (I recall a science teacher that was not fair to Michelle), this has been the exception and the as a whole most have been excellent. The special education teachers that help Timothy and Danielle have been very patient & understanding.

Grants Pass High; since I am primarily writing this post thank those who have helped change some of my views towards public schools, I will not comment too much here, as so far I am much less impressed with this schools dealings with Michelle, in particular the Counseling Department that cannot seem to even contact others such as her counselor that has spent years with her, nor deal with the horrible teasing she receives.
I will leave it at this for negatives (maybe another post someday for this subject).
I will say that Mr. Dennis DeCasas (a special education instructor) has been excellent with my daughter and it shows in how she relates to him and how he genuinely cares for students in his “care” (Ken Belcher was also an excellent teacher that showed genuine compassion toward her).

BTW, I recommend concerned conservative Christian parents avoid the website GreatSchools.net as this website ONLY publishes concerned parent letters that meet narrow minded editorials that are only positive or “pseudo negative”. This is unfortunately common nowadays where many could do well to Read Luke 10 and the parable of the Good Samaritan and stop following in the dishonest actions of President Obama

What is the most bothersome to me about the plethora of Obama half truths/lies is how the media is right behind him with a giant broom to cover up his trail of excrement.

After the Joe Wilson incident, I was taken aback by Pelosi and other extreme radicals and her willing media accomplices to act like the liberals are above the fray when in fact Senator Reid (Nevada) has yet to apologize to President Bush for this exact same statement, as well as the many who have treated him with extreme disrespect in his addresses. I was also thinking what a liar Reid was while watching this dishonest attempt to paint the whistle blower (Joe Wilson) as the villain about calling President Obama on his lies and half truths.

Further more, Joe Wilson was correct in his assessment (although it is debatable as to how he should have delivered this message), yet the media has the audacity to state that Obama was telling the truth.
Sorry ABC, CNN, MSNBC, etc; but a half truth is still a lie, when he (Obama) knows that the way the bill is written that the enforcement of keeping illegal aliens off any government sponsored health plan.

The Bill does state, “Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.”
However,The bill contains no verification requirement or enforcement process for citizenship or legal residency, as exists for other federal benefit programs. The only verification required for the subsidies pertains to family income. Beyond that, as the Congressional Research Service report notes, everything is left in the hands of the Health Choices Commissioner.

Let me put it this way as an analogy for those who think Obama is telling the truth:
Lets say you have a law that makes the speed limit in front of schools 20 mph when school children are present, yet provide no fines or refuse any law enforcement, do you really expect the law to be enforced? The obvious answer is NO!.
This is how this bill is written & Obama as well as his liberal colleagues know this full well!!!

Further more, years of meddling by the high courts shows that any provision to block illegal aliens form this government plan would be thrown out.

Update 1/25/11; I performed a test of Google using my wife and two employees names, addresses and unique emails.

I requested a Google Adsense account for Aquarium Answers, UV Bulbs, & King Family.

The first two are regularly plagiarized and have very unique content (especially Aquarium Answers), however the third is a more ordinary blog (no offense to Misti), that does not have nearly the content nor is it plagiarized.

Guess what? Google denied the two that they are already placing Adsense on plagiarized web sites without legal permission while allowing the third.

If this does not speak volumes about the corruption and dishonesty that is rampant at Google, nothing will. Sadly the media and others love affair with this extremely corrupt liberal corporation guarantees nothing will ever come of this. I also doubt that any lawyers with integrity will ever step forward and take on a class action lawsuit against this disgusting company

Although Google is the darling of the drive-by-media (which has about as much credibility any more as Osama Bin Laden has in teaching others to love their neighbors), they have actually gotten worse with their hypocritical use of Adwords/Adsense on illegal blogs/websites that use copyrighted articles to make money for both them and Google.
What Google is doing is nothing new and not personal against me, this is how they treat all small businesses and individuals and why they are the multi billion dollar company they are, by going after and taking money from the little guy that cannot afford lawyers. Say what you will about Bill Gate's business practices, at least he has gone after those who can afford lawyers and to get the medias attention (I will also point out he is the #1 contributor to Autism research, etc. in the world).

Recent Google Searches have yielded many sites, but this site in particular has ripped multiple articles from my Aquarium Answers Posts and Aquarium Information articles.
In a search using excerpts from my well researched and popular Aquarium Lighting Article helped me find this article chock full of Google Adsense/Adwords adverts:

What is especially sad is that Adsense recently denied my article sites for content, and what makes this even more sad and blatently dishonest is that my articles are constantly researched and updated for accuracy of content, which these articles have not.
I have written many departments at Google and have gotten either no reply or lame dishonest answers such as Google stands by only offering up ads on the highest quality sites that have been checked by Google, WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP, and sadly many buy this load and continue to think Google is this company with the highest of integrity when the opposite is true.

I have spent the better part of 3 decades in hands on and research of outside sources to write my many articles, as well I have worked hard at providing often hard to find or unique products such as hard to find UV Bulbs & T5/T8 straight/standard UV Bulbs only to see Google take advantage of this to their dishonest gain

What Google does is to provide nice products such as Google Docs, email and many other first rate services (although I beg to differ as to the quality of their searches since they are weighted heavily by the old boy network at DMOZ). I will admit that this is a blogger hosted blog, however it should be noted that I have been with Blogger for some time and that Google bought them out as they have many other good services.
How Google pays for this is their dishonest and corrupt business practices such as screwing the little guys such as myself that cannot afford a lawyer or a class action lawsuit that Google deserves (I doubt there are too many Lawyers with the Huevos Grandes to take on Google anyway).

Another aspect of Google Adwords/Adsense corruption is they Ad Scores.
Google employees will not even be honest and tell you why an ad score is low, rather they hide behind a corrupt rating algorithm that is meant to score Ads low so as to charge more per click.
As an example, the search term "UV Bulb" & "UV Bulbs" gave me a score of 3 even though both search terms are contained there in. As well the landing page has both terms relavanty spread over the EXTREMELY content rich page with links to further related information NO OTHER site in Google Adwords provided.
Worse, a website that came up ahead of my ad took three clicks to reach the very popular G23 9 Watt UV bulb, and even then on a very content poor website (this even with a cost per click that is 40% of profit, which of coarse at normal CTR of 5% does not even come close to paying for the ad).
Come on Google, who are you fooling other than Obamanites??

What others can do:

Hopefully someday others, especially either the masses or those with the power to inspire the masses such as the media or popular TV/Radio show hosts like Rush Limbaugh will put their money where their mouths are and call Google to the mat (and stop using the vomit inducing phrase “to Google something” instead of simply to search). Maybe then Google as a company will rise to the quality of many of its services instead of the bottom feeder this company is currently (ask Steve Jobs his opinion of Google of late for ripping off his iPhone platform).

I have sent emails to many in my business and friends contact, as well I have urged members of my aquarium/pond forums to switch to using Yahoo or Bing as their home page instead of Google. I know of at least a couple dozen persons who have made this switch, which admittedly a drop in the bucket, but if enough other businesses with similar experiences start similar campaigns and those who received these forwarded emails do likewise, this can make a difference and Google will take notice (although in their extreme arrogance they may not figure out why).

As well Microsoft and Yahoo need to stop taking Google head on with their search engines, as although I strongly beg to disagree that Google is the better search engine (especially since they use DMOZ to weight many sites and DMOZ is nothing more than a good ole boy network of late), although sadly most in this country are convinced that Google is 'good'.
In my opinion the other search engines need to other unique services such as Google Apps, Docs, better blogging, less buggy email (are you listening Yahoo?), etc; maybe then many will switch just to use these services for which Google clearly the king of for the time being.

Finally boycott websites that are nothing more than Google hacks such as Web Pro News whose heavy handed editing removes posts that expose the truths about Googles business practices.

DHS, DCS, CPS; Oregon, LA, Children Protective Service Abuse of Authority

In particular Oregon DHS

These government organizations are among the most out of control in my experience, I can speak in particular to Children’s Services in Oregon and California.

While I am sure there are good and well meaning persons employed at these government agencies, there are no boundaries for the abuse of authority the exists in these agencies.
Many of these social workers have no respect for the constitution of the USA and will make themselves the judge, jury and executioner while ignoring due process. Simply put these are EVIL government agencies that are TOTALLY out of control.

I have been given this rather poor example to support their actions: “they need to act quickly to prevent potential harm to the children in question”. Unfortunately while this may help some children, how many are also harmed due to false or inaccurate accusations? More importantly, if I were to take the same actions against the real cause of harm to my family (more on this later), and take action without going through proper legal channels, I would end up in jail, so why are these social workers allowed to break the law while an ordinary citizen would be accused of vigilantism?

In my family’s most recent problems with Oregon DHS was a VERY sad example of persons that had no business being employed as a worker as all the facts that were easily found (many as public record) were grossly overlooked.
As a side note the Grants Pass Police also have mishandled the issues that have led up to this problem and the arrogance of the desk sergeant I spoke with as to the department’s behavior was both immoral and extremely lacking in any compassionate.

This most recent problem started with my oldest daughter who has issues such as neuro sensory dysfunction, common puberty issues, and most importantly; mental harm that resulted from a person that harmed her after taking advantage of my wife during a mental breakdown due to severe depression and more several years back while still in California.
Her therapist here in Grants Pass that has been working with her since her emergency arrival here (we flew her ahead of the family to protect her), is aware of this (he has been an awesome person I might add that has achieved Michelle’s full trust allowing for him learn much from her), the Grants Pass PD is aware of the veiled threats sent to us and the fact she still has severe nightmares of harm from him, unfortunately they have done little to help, unlike the LA Sheriff which kindly kept in contact with my family before we moved. I also noted this to her school counselor early in the school year.

Sadly however when she had one of her common meltdowns, where she made suicidal statements (although those who know her well, know that although she can be deeply depressed, she is not suicidal), her school counselor brought DHS into the problem, totally bypassing me, even her therapist and others that know the truth (such as those from our church who we spend many camping trips with and know our family well, or my sister who acted as her mother when my daughter was first moved to Oregon); since my daughter has been made to believe many lies, in part from threats of harm (that are documented) from the man in Los Angeles CA., she quickly made statements about me that mirror 100% documented emails and other statements made by this person.
DHS in their apparently man/father hating attitude “ran with this”, not conducting any real investigation such as even consulting with her long term therapist. They convinced my other children and worse even my wife (who struggles with being easily suggestible, as her often controlling sister has many issues that also made the situation worse) that I had issues of anger which are far from the truth (I do struggle with bitterness issues, but I am much better in this in part due loving help of others including church counselors).

The other issue I was falsely accused of was being controlling. However going all the way back to high school and even currently in an Aquarium forum I host, I have been correctly told that I am easily walked over and I am totally the opposite of controlling; so this accusation was so preposterous it is downright evil and scary. In fact most persons from neighbors to co-workers have accused me of being "lacking any control over my family or others in my sphere of influence", and most persons including counselors have stated that it is my wife when she is suffering from depression that is very subtly controlling!
Simply asking those who have known me over my life would have told any competent social worker the truth as to this, but then truth is a foreign concept to there persons.

Another scary/evil aspect of this was that my life insurance policy was inquired as to benefits, with the obvious thinking this action might cause me to take my life, and when couple this with the fact that many of these false charges were hand written and NOT in my wife’s hand writing, this smacks of an evil that is beyond comprehension.

This resulted in my family being removed literally in a matter of hours while I was away on a business trip. This caused much trauma to my two younger children, especially my autistic son who amazingly saw through the lies. DHS also convinced my wife to place a restraining order on me based on so many lies I will not even add them here. On a positive note, I had an outpouring of support as to this horrible and dishonest restraining order by many at our church who knew these charges to be outright blatant lies, since many camp with us and know that I have ALWAYS been the family’s primary giver. As well since I work out of the home (to take of my special needs kids), the two persons that have spend much time there also knew that the total opposite of these charges was the truth. Since I am the primary care giver, the kids could not get to their karate classes, were latch key kids, were not fed the home cooked balanced meals I provided, and more.

Thankfully during a hearing, the judge immediately questioned the truthfulness of these charges, and with a court full of person that knew the truth the restraining order was thrown out after he asked my wife if she really wanted to go forward with this more and she quickly saw that this was going nowhere. Unfortunately it took the Grants Pass PD a few months to respond to this (but then again they could have helped with this problem, but chose not to and the desk sergeant even laughed at me in a later phone call).
As well, with the help of many truly caring persons, that knew and sought the truth, my wife and I are now back together.
Here is a quote from a friend (John L) as to the problems with Oregon DHS and GPPD:
unfortunately those w/ authority do not seem to act under the principles of what God intended for the betterment of mankind - keep faith my friend - good will prevail over evil eventually - at least that's what I keep telling myself (12/02/09)

Sadly though, the case worker, finally contacted me to get “my side” (weeks later??) and even when presented with evidence that was overwhelming (including eyewitness testimonials, hate emails form the person that is the real cause, and MUCH more), she still made this horrible statement: “I believe your daughter should still not be with you”. I later spoke with an attorney and others who know this DHS worker and this Attorney basically stated that she does what she wants to; regardless of the facts (essentially Jesus Christ could tell her she was wrong and she still would argue she is correct).

What is scary to me as to Human Services/Children’s Services/ Children’s Protective Services; is this is a similar response a case worker gave me after this person that is the cause of the initial problems back in Los Angeles after this man would call DHS/DCS to make false charges against me so as to deflect his own crimes against my family.
In the last incident back in LA, I had already flown my daughter to Oregon to protect her, yet the case worker responding to the "anomynous" charges that I was abusive the day before told me after I attempted to give her evidence to the contrary (such as the fact that my daughter has not even been in LA for a few weeks at this time) told me this: “It is not my job to investigate your evidence, rather to protect your children from you”. I could go on about what a psychopath this person who harmed my daughter and family is (causing great financial harm as well and me to abandon my business in LA of 25 years as my family was what is most important to me), but would rather not open up this can of worms.

Hopefully someday some Politians with the moral fortitude will do something to rein in the power bestowed upon these government agencies, as although they may help some families, they have often harmed families as well (I still am picking up the pieces from the harm DHS/DCS has bestowed upon my family). What is also sad is they were there with armies of persons to tear my family apart, but were nowhere to be found to put my family back together.
Thankfully through the Love of Jesus shown through my sister Jan, my Brother in Law Cary and MANY at Bethany Presbyterian (that filled the court room), fellow co-workers, my previous partner from my old business (these persons worked out of the home and see how my family really is cared for) we are putting things back together once more.

I still worry, as my daughter still has much to deal with, as well my younger daughter is learning delayed and my son is autistic, so this places much stress on our family. This means we need loving and HONEST support, as well the corrupt Grants Pass PD has not shown it can truly care about the care for its citizens; they are too busy writing traffic citations for non existent violations, banging back doors to homes (about fireworks?), correcting citizens how to address a sergeant over an officer, & training their officers to lie IMO.

What was also interesting (& scary) is my autistic son saw through the lies told to him and my middle daughter by this monster that worked for Oregon CPS; “I know this is not true Dad”. Sadly he does not deal well with this type of stress and it showed and I was worried about him during this time.

I can say on a positive note that God did use this horrible evil for good (as He often does), such as bringing my family closer together in many ways and help me and my wife realize what is most important in life. As well this even helped me realize who our fiends were and who my were not my friends as others that I did much for in the past were quiet during this time when they could have shown Christian Integrity. Thankfully far more persons fit into the prior than the later.

SUMMARY
While I have seen abuse of authority in many aspects of government, nothing I have witnessed has come even close to the total ignoring of the facts and the downright destructive evil that was exhibited by the Oregon DHS (although Los Angeles County has similar issues).
Here are a summary of facts that the Oregon DHS brazenly ignored:

My daughters mental health history that is well documented with her therapist and others
My wife also has a documented history of mental health issues in part due to severe postpartum depression (not that this makes her a bad person) and this includes her easy manipulation by others when a given situation is difficult. This also includes multiple affair issues during her mental breakdowns with a person that clearly Psychopath (btw, this is not my opinion either, but others more qualified than I), and mental hospitalization from post partum depression (by her own family I might add) as she was considered a threat to her child (at the time, not now)
The ignoring of well documented communications from an established Psychopath that took advantage of our family and continues to make either veiled threats or win my wife back.
The failure to ask those that are closely involved with our family such as members of the Holy Rovers Camping Group that has "lived" with our family and has witnessed us warts and all and was willing to testify as to the real truth (also employees that came to my house to work since I have worked out of my home off & on for more than a decade)
The dozen of documents including receipts of strange spending sprees that show exactly the opposite of what the Oregon DHS alleged
The clear manipulation by the Oregon DHS of my children that was obvious to other that later spoke to my kids (this is/was downright evil IMO)

Hopefully one of Oregon's more moral state representatives will work to either totally re-organize the Oregon DHS or simply dump this blatantly evil (IMO) state agency.

* “My 2 grand children were taken from my son on false allegations and phone calls. C.P.S. just came and took them without a investigation. Soon to find out it was all lies and no probable cause. Because C.P.S. Failed to follow their own procedures and policy by not investigating, my 2 grandchildren are still in foster care.”

* “CPS social services should go more into depth with their cases, rather than pulling a child out of their home, and ripping their life apart, taking them away from their home, family, and siblings, just like they did mine. This needs to be taken seriously, my siblings and i were some of the lucky ones who resorted to family and friends rather than foster families who could have become abusive. My mother didn’t neglect us, or abuse us, CPS did. They have abused our whole life in just one day. God bless the children who died because CPS took them away from their families without the proper research, just their selfish thoughts of making money.”

Update 9/21/09; ABC Good Morning America & other media outlets, blogs, etc. have reported a similar incident where Children’s Services and local police have reacted without any kind of investigation

In this case the employee that reported this couple is being criticized, but in my view the authorities share most of the blame as they did not investigate before taking action.

Sadly, this also makes the many excellent police and Social workers jobs much more difficult, as these types of incidents further alienate the public from these government agencies and their heavy handed big brother actions.

As with me, despite many documents, including a PHd children’s counselor was never consulted. It took an outpouring of persons that knew my family well in court and a wise judge that threw this out before hearing 90% of the witnesses present (including our church camping group, coworkers that work out of my home with me, and many more; that knows how much time I spend as the person that feeds and provides most of my children’s care)

Grants Pass Poor Morals

Are there Morals in Grants Pass, Oregon

Maybe (such as the church I attend), but the community as a whole it sure appears doubtful based on rude and condescending behavior of many “elite” in the business community, City Council (that will not even return emails or phone calls & not just from me) Police and more (even how my business is treated).

I wrote a shorter version of this post to the Grants Pass Daily Courier,

I have written in the past on how I was blown off by our Representatives when trying to appeal to be turned down for Food Stamps, even though my combined income was well under the amount to qualify, but because I am self employed they use a strange account method that in any business school would get an ‘F’.
I am self employed in part so that I can take of my family better since my son is autistic and my daughter needs counseling do to a horrible event that forced me to move in the first place (see my about me page: Carl Strohmeyer, my biography).

Besides trying to get by in a business that gets no community support I collect recyclables, often much of which is found in the street as it is worthless in Oregon, but I take it to CA. I also used to collect Newspaper until the commodities market collapsed for it after the election.
As of writing this, I have severely criticized for doing this, often by local business including a very evil person that worked at the Shell Station at the top of 7th, the comments he & his pal made showed he new nothing about me and his pal was even more smug and evil in his comments including his smug laugh as the Shell station owner treated me like something less than human (as with onlookers who said nothing, so much for the parable of the Good Samaritan).

Similar comments have been made;
*Near Union 76 A guy following after me telling my loser life story as he saw it (this was at the 76 station on Rogue River Highway).

*A manager at Rays Food Place (on Williams Highway) lied and was extremely rude to me as well.

*A manager at the Safeway on G Street as well treating me with total disrespect and lying as well about why I cannot collect TRASH (I might note that the Safeway on Williams Highway is staffed by good people and I would recommend that all honorable persons visit this Safeway). This guy has a condescending attitude towards anyone attempting to help themselves, using the condescending “Big Daddy (Obama like)” attitude that I or others are too stupid to safely recycle cans & needs to get a morality check and read the parable of the “Good Samaritan”.

*Local Parks Basically the same rude and dishonest treatment by park staff, with “big brother” like treatment for simply picking up trash and doing the community a service (most others ignore what I pick up I might add). Sadly parks such as Schabarum (in LA County) welcomed what I did and in fact I became friends with the park manager of this large regional park.

*Morgan Lane Shell The Shell Station incident and his actions showed just how evil many people are and how this community really could care less for many of its citizens. Yes this may be a blanket statement, but then how come I can never get a phone call or email returned by my representatives or the managers at the local food stamps office implying that maybe a real job is in order and other disinterested comments that shows a despicable callousness for those who are truly working to improve themselves in this community. In this incident I was not even near anyone, but this guy called me every name in the book and worse onlookers said nothing.

Before I had to move here to be near my sister for my wife and daughter's well being I was collecting recyclables as a way to make a dent on the $80,000 in debt from Medical bills and from my wife and the person who took advantage of her during a nervous breakdown. I ended up with a route early in the morning before I started my regular job (as well as weekends); however the response was VERY DIFFERENT THAN HERE IN GRANTS PASS!
One business (an Arco Station) in LA wonder where I was when I did not come around a few times because as they KNEW that I cleaned up trash, and that not only did they have to have their dumpster picked up one lass time per week, I cleaned up as I moved around.
The same for a machine shop where many would drink and make a mess after hours, I would again be extracting recyclables while leaving their lot cleaner.
These businesses often invited me in for coffee and even tipped me for this as well (they also showed interest in why I had to do this); but then they respected me for who I was and knew this did not mean that I was not a failure, in fact they often asked about my Aquarium Research and business into subjects such as Sponge Filters, aquarium lighting, Salt in freshwater aquarium, and more.

YET GRANTS PASS does not get this and many of its citizens would rather look the other way ("The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing").

This is so sad when one considers;

*I could have left my wife, yet I stood by her after all that happened;
*I could have left many creditors holding the bag, but choose not to
*I could have choose sell off my business and declare bankruptcy of my old business, but I choose not to so as to preserve jobs of loyal employees
*I could have not spent the time with my family they need (since I do the cooking and much of the "running" around for them"), especially my autistic son or my daughter (for which I also pay for counseling and more).
*I could have chosen to stay the course in my flight training in the 1990s (I already achieved my Multi-Engine License and was working on my commercial), but I could see early on that my wife could not cope with the issues of parenthood (this is NOT a dis on her either, just who she is/was), so I ended my training and quite honestly this is the ONLY TIME IN MY LIFE I FELT TRULY RESPECTED AND ACCEPTED FOR HOW I AM, MY REAL TALENTS, ETC., yet I let it go.
*I left a business behind that although it was difficult in many ways, it paid the bills and I was respected by most my customers to work in a Candy factory where I was mopping floors, doing many jobs that most would expect to do as a teenager, all the while finding out how little many thought of me.

There is much more I could add to the above, yet this community chooses to believe MANY false rumors about me, some about what brought me here, other rumors about my business talents, and others that are so despicable I will not repeat here.

SO SAD GRANTS PASS!!!!!!

If this community had any pride, or any regard for a person just trying to honestly get by & do what is right, which for me includes a debt that I did not even incur (I still owe $36,000), but was from the person who took advantage of my wife during a mental break down and harmed my daughter for which she still has not recovered, they would boycott businesses such as this Shell Station or The North Safeway and let them know why or better ask them why they are so despicable to members of the community that are working hard (14 hours a day in my case) to take care of their family. The Rays on the South side is of a similar wrong mind set.

I am not clear why work ethic is so disrespected in Grants Pass, but it certainly seems to be the case!!!

HOWEVER, ON A POSITIVE NOTE, In a more recent event (Feb. 2009), where more lies came out, and my daughter was very distraught due to emotional struggles many due to the past events in LA), there was a positive outpouring from our current church (Bethany Presbyterian), some friends here and many friends and business contacts (both online and even from LA) where they stood up in court or sent testimonials as to the truth of who I am, my family and much, much more.
So for this I must say that I am very grateful, as this has really shown me God’s hand in this and that there are positives here in Grants Pass.

What is Conservatism vs. Capitalism?
What is a True Conservative, Not necessarily what the Media or even many Republicans, Libertarians, or even what some Tea Party Members or Evangelicals Say it is

(1) Conservatism is God based while capitalism is human based

(2) Neither conservatism nor capitalism is exclusive to a particular political party. You can be a capitalist in either party, the same with conservative, although I think you will see more true conservatives in the Republican party.

(3) Capitalism seeks profit via any angle possible, even if others are hurt in the process, while conservatism seeks profit by helping others help themselves.
The capitalist will also beg for government bail outs, all the while failing to recognize what brought them to this point, again hurting others in the process (such as tax payers).

The conservative will often get the help needed in tough times by others as long as they are in an honest God fearing society (which is unfortunately rare today, even among so called Christians). As this applies to government, the true conservative does not seek government bail outs or higher taxes, rather adjusting spending, etc.

Socialism is worse yet, it seeks gain by making others dependent on the giver, although the while the giver pats himself/herself on the back for being a "good person"

(4) A conservative will generally get the most out of his/her employees by treating them as humans and with respect, while a pure capitalist will take advantage, use , and then often discard employees.

(5) A True conservative IS compassionate and does not need to use terms such as "compassionate conservatism", while the capitalist has to use these terms to justify actions.
Unfortunately some Evangelical Christians do not seem get this, which is one of the reasons someone of Obama's charisma was elected (good or bad), as he filled the vacuum left by a few Evangelicals who have become capitalist thugs making others (such as myself) feel like losers because our life’s failures.

(6) A conservative follows the principles of the Good Samaritan while a Capitalist walks across the street.

This is where many “Ron Paul Libertarian Pseudo Conservatives” miss the boat in my view. Thinking what goes on in Europe, the Middle East, etc. is none of our business is not only extremely naïve as the events of 9/11 or WW2 prove, but even if this were true, it certainly does not follow the teaching of the good Samaritan found in Luke 10.

On a more personal note, this "Ron Paul" Libertarian viewpoint came close to destroying my family when persons that held this viewpoint of "looking the other way" while my family was destroyed by a predator that took advantage of my wife during a very dark time for my family (my son was very sick and my wide suffered severe postpartum depression). My thoughts is SHAME on those who hold this non conservative viewpoint and then claim to be a conservative!!!!

(7) Being a Capitalist, a Republican, a Christian does Not make you a conservative.
Despite what many may think about China, I have many business dealings with China and while they might be considered a communist nation, in reality China is run as a pure capitalist nation (in the purest since of capitalism!), however what China is not is a Conservative nation.
The bottom line is China is a good example of how you can have a capitalist system apart from conservatism and why so many persons that often confuse conservatism with capitalism when nothing is further from the truth.
Sadly many capitalists (both Republican and Democrat) give conservatism a bad name do to their capitalist actions/views that lack conservative principles (examples might include Bill Gates, the founders of Google, our local politicians Greg Walden or Gordon Anderson

(8) Being a true conservative is NOTHING to be ashamed of, despite labels placed upon them by mis-informed liberals, or the media.

(9) A true conservative is conservative first, a Republican (or other party) a distant second and will pull the handle for the candidate that will uphold their beliefs in conservative integrity, whether it be a Democrat or a third party candidate.

(10) A true conservative is not condescending or arrogant. A Conservative will find out the facts first then judge later. Such is why politicians such as our local Congressman Greg Walden or past State Representative Gordon Anderson whom have made flippant condescending remarks when asked for help are not true conservatives.

(11)Humility is the ear mark of a true conservative, as outlined in Philippians 2:3-4
3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Again this is an area many RINO Republicans (such as the before mentioned Greg Walden or Gordon Anderson) show themselves to not be true conservatives despite being labeled as such!

(12) A true conservative does not participate in rumors (similar to #10), whether spreading, starting or even looking the other way. Truth MUST be found first before any honest judgments can be made.
This can be on an individual level, a government entity (such as DHS/DCS), a supervisor at a job (that is not interested in truth about a falsely accused employee), a Judge, a Politician, the media, a Law Enforcement Officer, or anyone else with the ability to exercise discernment

(13) A True Conservative takes full personal responsibility for their actions/situation. Even when one's situation is beyond one's control, one's actions generally are not.
This does not mean we will not make mistake, oh to the contrary, the difference is taking responsibility for these mistake.
This also means to do all you can to remedy the situation you are in, as well filing frivolous law suites certainly is not taking responsibility.

Taking responsibility for ones own actions and situation is something the disgusting "Occupy Movement" has no concept of. (See Occupy Wall Street Hypocrisy)

(14) A True Conservative is not a Narcissist, this is related to showing humility and taking responsibility.
A good example of a Capitalist that is NOT a conservative is Steve Jobs based on his narcissistic views as well as his lack of taking responsibility and lack of humility (it was always about Apple when he was copied, but never a problem when he "borrowed" from others, as well as his failure to take responsibility of a child he fathered, leaving this child and mother in near poverty while he made his billions). I know many conservatives such as Rush Limbaugh (whom I otherwise respect) love to point out his business accomplishments (of which he has MANY); as human being he is no one I would EVER ASPIRE to be like OR desire his success if i ran my business like him.

(15) A true conservative recognizes the importance of respecting an honest and just government and its place in protecting its citizens.
However a true Conservative recognizes that Government too can steal, promote injustice, etc (such as what I have seen with the Oregon DHS), and a true conservative does not turn a blind eye to such injustices committed by the State including Law Enforcement which I have seen many conservatives (even Sean Hannity in his blind support for law enforcement and whom I have great respect for otherwise) just because they feel a robotic need to respect these agencies.

This also applies to popular Politicians or their supporters, and this does not necessarily mean that a Politician that has committed a "wrong" is necessarily a bad person, but this applies to blind support for a Politicians bad behavior.
This is no better looking away from a child that is misbehaving, in other words we can still support our government, officials, police, agencies, etc. but we MUST call them into account when they are wrong and those that do not are most clearly NOT True Conservatives!.
I observed this type of support first hand with the Oregon DHS and with blind support of our previous local state representative (Gordon Anderson) after he made the ludicrous statement that "17 year old employees should only have jobs at places such as McDonald's, not in middle management" (this after being confronted about a law that was holding back the advancement of a very highly qualified high school graduate that happened to be 17 at the time).

*Some examples are a conservatively run business will treat other businesses with respect and employees with respect, all the while growing their business by example.
While the capitalist will squash other businesses and "throw bones" to employees to make themselves feel good all the while blaming most problems on the employees and running their business from the bottom up rather than the conservative way of the top down.

*Google is an example of a capitalist business that donates to many liberal causes all the while smothering small businesses with their immoral actions, often out of site of the "see no evil hear no evil" media.

*Many who lump the definition of conservative to a rigid dictionary definition will state that conservatives want to back to the days of clear cutting forests, destroying bison or other over the top methods of “taming our land, environment” regardless of consequences. This is not a conservative as a conservative should be a steward of his/her environment/land, this means utilizing the land we are placed on, not abused. Sadly ANWAR (Alaska National Wildlife Reserve) is a good example of the pendulum swing the other direction where we are also not stewards by locking up safely usable resources.
Slavery is another issue many will box conservatives into (forgetting what Abraham Lincoln stood for); although the Bible generally only addresses the custom of slavery, a clear reading of the ENTIRE Bible shows it is certainly not God’s plan.
For instance in I Timothy 1:10 the author lumps those deal in the slave trade with the worst of society: “for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine.” Revelation 21:6-7 clearly shows how we ALL will become God’s sons/daughters (not a few slaves and others sons/daughters)
“He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.”

*Here in my current home town, I unfortunately see this contrast all too often with many businesses and civic leaders patting themselves on the back for giving a dollar to someone in front of Wal-Mart or donating money to build a park (which is fine on the surface), all the while treating those that would lift themselves up via hard work like cr##.
Examples is the Oregon Food Stamps program that discriminates against the self employed with sarcastic employees and arrogant Politian’s such as Greg Walden.
Also included are many prominent person and business owners that will critique me for recycling (telling me I am a loser, making up lies and worse) for trying to better my family which includes an autistic son and a daughter that was harmed by an evil presence that made me move here in the first place. This includes a Ray's Food Place, Safeway and U-Save Market.
Since one tenant of a true conservative is personal responsibility, comments such as by a manager at Safeway that "they are responsible" if some gets hurt collecting cans is bogus, as we are responsible for our own actions and collecting cans to supplement one's income is taking responsibility for one's self, but blaming Safeway or anyone else for getting cut on a bottle, can, etc. negates any personal responsibility. So my point is such comments should once more be judged on an individual basis and making such statements (such as this Safeway manager) flies in the face of point #10.

Hopefully some RHINO Republicans will read this and finally get the message, as the misunderstanding of what a conservative is spans both Democrat AND Republican! Otherwise history is destined to repeat itself if more Schwarzeneggers, Whitmans, Waldens, Gordon Andersons, etc. get elected and otherwise conservative persons look for “hope” in the wrong place.

Obama, Google, the Media, and more lies and hypocrisy from the left

Believe me, I would love to be proven wrong as to Obama and the admittedly more subjective disagreements I have with him in subjects such as Economics and International Issues (I do not find ANY common ground when it comes to more objective issues such as his voting against the "born alive Amendment" in Illinois and similar moral issues).

I do think it is only right for me and others who disagree with him in the 'arena' of Economics and World Affairs to give him a chance, maybe just maybe he will prove me and others wrong (not likely though).

HOWEVER there are many concerns that point to Obama NOT solving anything, rather, him causing issues that will take years to fix (worse than Carter)

*My first worry is that the Stock Market and even MUCH more so the Paper Commodities Market are indicators of where experts project business in the future and with recycled paper prices off more than 50% since Obama's election this doe not bode well (paper is necessary for shipping and many aspects of commerce, so when demand is off this much, business show little faith in the economy rebounding anytime soon).

*Next, is the media which is so out of touch with reality it is mind boggling.
From the totally mind numbed George Stephanopolis, Oprah Winfrey, to so many others in the media.
Their behavior, actions, and support affects the views of "followers", especially those that will not do ANY research of their own and just "lap up" the "Kool Aid" of star mania or outright lies and half truths from these so called "objective journalists.
Even off the subject of Obama, the media tried to play up a suicide of a Paula Abdul fan as reaction to rejection from American Idol, when in reality MAYBE if the media had was not so star struck, making stars to be "gods" this would have never happened (such as how Oprah and others treat the False Messiah; Obama).

*My next concern honestly does not directly concern Obama, but does concern me are some of his most ardent supporters (to whom he is likely to listen and HAS listened to in the past).
What is interesting here is that although Obama won "fair and square" as best I can tell, you do not hear most conservatives protesting or demanding his election be over turned for whatever reason, YET in this same election proposition 8 won in liberal California and the screams and demands for the over turn of this vote by the PEOPLE of California is sickening.

Along this same line you have AIG, one of the most liberal big government supporting pig corporations out there getting more than one bailout and continuing to flaunt their arrogance (as most liberals do) in the public eye, yet the Media (due to their lack of morals IMO) totally misses the roots of the problems and who AIG truly supports.

*My next concern is the associations that Obama CURRENTLY surrounds himself or have backed him, in the PRESENT (not past associations).
We can start with his Chief of Staff; Rahm Emanuel who is little more than a gang banging thug.
Then we have his cozyness with possible appointment of Google CEO Eric Schmidt, whose company is probably the closest rival to Obama in a Messiah-like grip on the general public (if not more so).
Google has been one of the largest contributors to far left causes, but worse than that is again its grip on the public in a God like status despite the FACT they are one of the most dishonest large corporations in America, and unlike other companies that practice less than moral business practices in the open against other large companies that can afford lawyers, Google practices it corporate stealing and dishonesty behind closed doors, mostly against the smallest of business.

Post Election Stock Market Crash; The future of Small Business and the Stock Market in an Obama Presidency
As well as the effect of Obama on the Paper Recycling Market (used paper prices)

I already have noticed that ABC News and others are already running interference for President-elect Obama defending him in the continuing post election stock market crash.

Yes there are many factors driving this, however the primary one is fear of his socialist anti-business agenda (these comments do not help: “So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted”).

I know I am selling what is left in my retirement account to use now to make alternative plans for my family rather than sitting around waiting for what his next anti-business move will be. I know others that own small business that are planning similar moves.
Part of the problem is not just what this horrible man does, but the rhetoric he uses that stirs up so much hatred for any business. I cannot tell you how much nasty emails I get with persons expecting this and that for free, especially shipping despite my costs often being $8 for a $10 item.
On Wednesday (Nov.5) I got a nasty phone call from someone accusing us of being dishonest for charging an extra $1 for phone orders; well let me tell you as a very marginal internet business owner, the time alone it takes to process a phone order over an automated online order is often 15-30 minutes PLUS the higher process fee, however just looking at the time issue, on a common $10 order this is $5 in employee time so quick math tells you that it does not even come close to covering expenses (on larger orders it is less of a problem from this aspect). We even sat down and thought this out, if EVERY order was via phone our meager 2-3% profit would become a loss due to time spent.

Paper Market
BUT what is even less known to many is the paper market. I have collected paper over the years as a way to supplement my income and taken this to the large Sonoco Mill in LA. Anyway I am trying to figure out the best course of action for my business/family and I am planning to spend less time with my business and information site research and thought I should check paper prices; to my horror it has gone from $130 per ton to $50 per ton since the last time I checked two weeks ago, it has not been this low since the 1990s under Clinton ($40 per ton).
What many may not know is that this company buys scrap paper to turn into shipping tubes/boxes that are sold to businesses, this company buys paper based on FUTURE needs of paper for business, and since most goods are shipped via boxes these days (including internationally) this commodity is very much driven by what experts see as the real future of business in the coming years.

I was hoping the paper market would hold up so as to supplement likely worse business income and more time wasted with nasty customers that will expect even more for nothing in the Obama anti-small business climate, but I am screwed here as well.

More from the False Messiah
What is also sickening is the “swooning” of everyone over this False Messiah (Obama), it is eerily cultic and is almost like they think he is a God, just watching Oprah Winfrey made me want to barf.

Personally I hope I am wrong, but the trend in hate is already apparent, and I already decided to stop wasting so much time with article research and will cut back time on Forums even more so that I can spend more time picking up recycling or any other way to bring income to my family. I am also going to explore selling my business.

A new low in US History; The election of Barack Obama the False Messiah

We finally sank to a new low as a Nation by electing the False Messiah as the President.
He has deceived millions with his easy to dispel lies if only the media had not helped. He stands for Infanticide (he voted against the born alive amendment in the IL legislature), against Israel, against hard working persons. He has inspired millions that anyone who has something should not have it. He reminds me of the evil that has infected mine and my family’s life by inspiring many to look at and believe words over actions, in fact his actions and rhetoric are EXTREMELY SIMILAR and painfully remind me of the exact views others have taken of me based on lies and deceptions, while others that new the truth hid and said nothing!

While I seriously doubt Obama is Anti-Christ (as some have implied), he certainly has many of the traits and I once more feel let down by all the Christians that voted for this false suit, but then this should not surprise me, and maybe I am the idiot for believing Christians actually listen to God or follow his teaching by looking at the "fruit" (deeds and actions) rather than words (such as rumors or lies).
This is how I and my family has been destroyed (& we are continued to be destroyed by these rumors and lies) and I guess this is where we are going in this world. I guess doing what is right means nothing in this world and this election only confirms this.

My only hope for our nation is that those who disagree and stand against evil will let democracy run its course as the best way to defeat this person and the evil he will likely bring to Israel, our Nation, and type of view has already brought on my family (heck we live well below the poverty level yet cannot get any help such as food stamps due to government tabulations that the False Messiah favors.
By letting democracy run its course, we can throw him out of office via legitimate means after (hopefully) the American people wake up to what Socialism really is and that this guy stirs up dissension in way unheard of since other evil persons in history.

I pray for patience on those few who did stand up against evil (although this has been rare in my life personally) to let the False Messiah trip himself up (along with his cohorts Pelosi and Reed), so give him time to show his true colors.
OR maybe I am dead wrong and this guy will be awesome (yeah right and pigs will fly some day too).

Hopefully in 2012 the lights we go off in voters heads and in in the next election cycle we will finally get a better president than we have had in many years. If our next president is a Republican, he/she will lead better than Bush and stand up to the Media lies better than Bush and most lame ass Republicans!!!

The False Messiah, Barack Obama was campaigning door to door when a self employed Plumber asked the False Messiah a question the morally bankrupt media should have a long time ago, that is about what he REALLY believes what and how is view of taxes entails. He basically admitted that we need to "spread around the wealth" via a socialist re-distribution.
The problem with the False Messiahs tax plans and views of government is that he really has NO understanding of business and what the costs are. His tax credit for hiring is a joke that does not even come close to the costs of hiring a skilled employee and of coarse he taxes on small business that make over $250,000 does not take into account the real costs and profit margins, this is the kind of reason that got me denied Food Stamps even though I make well under the poverty level, but I am self employed.

ABC News should be ashamed with calling George Stephanopoulos a political analyst as he is simply a political hack for the Lord Barrack Obama.
George states everyone is more worried about the stock market, and not the anger about the political system and not about the lies that the media is providing cover for the Lord Barrack Obama.
A Town Hall rally has been totally been taken out of context by the media where the newsies use editing to portray those in attendance as crazy or off the “deep end”. Many there and elsewhere ARE fired up by the possibility of the possibility of the most dangerously socialist and the friendliest person towards terrorists to possible take the White House ever!!!

Most of my BUSINESS and personal contacts realize Stock Market plunge certainly hurts their retirement portfolios, the most direct of this problem is felt by just a minority of persons.
All the while many in business (& elsewhere) I know ARE worried about a lying socialist, one who is far to the left of Bill Clinton and is propped up by the likes of lying media types such as the political and morally corrupt George Stephanopoulos becoming president.
Sadly an admittedly weak republican presidential candidate only lamely responds to Obamas and the medias lies, including as to why we were in Iraq, all the while the Lord Barrack Obama speaks of using our troops for humanitarian missions, was not Saddam Hussein a mass murderer?
The UN security council agreement for which the Fake Messiah constantly lies about our reasons for the invasion of Iraq; The UN Security Council passed Resolution 1441 by a unanimous 15 to 0 vote, which included Russia, China and France, and Arab countries, such as Syria. I will not even go into detail her as all one needs to do is find snips on the internet and view them with an OPEN MIND. These interviews were edited and so slanted against Palin it was just plain sickening!!!!
I will not say that Palin is not without her baggage as am I or anyone else on this planet, but I would compare the questions and attacks as going after her scabs all the while totally ignoring Obama's gapping wounds.
When I went to ABS.com and viewed comments, the vast majority were against this interview which is interesting as I have gone there before and even when I do not agree with the story being commented on, most commenting will agree, so this really was eye opening as to how off base and clueless Charlie Gibson is/was.

One more ridiculous press attack on Palin is trying to show her church (an Assemblies of God Church) in a bad light. While I do NOT agree with the Assemblies of God or quite bluntly and charismatic churches view, this was down right ridiculous as the Church Obama has attended for vastly more time was headed by someone who hates America, Israel, and embraces Terrorists. There is no comparison between these two churches.

I am writing this post to point out what I see as the judgmentalism that is so common in our society, media, and often on both sides of the political aisle (albeit the left tends towards major hypocrisy in this area).

I have found the attacks in the media on Sarah Palin for her daughter having a baby due to premarital sex and the fact that the person that got her pregnant is suddenly being paraded around with the family highly and ludicrously judgmental.

I myself have a 15 year old daughter who I know is very respectful of her beliefs in God and I feel also understands the repercussions of sex. I also know that my three (now adult) nieces were similar in there view of abstinence and none of them had to make the decisions that Sarah Palin’s daughter did after having sex with her boyfriend.
I like to think that my daughter will not be faced with this decision, however if she is and if the boy/man who is “responsible” for this is willing to step up to the plate and be a man, I know I would respect both her AND him. Yes I will admit that many of these marriages do not last, but some do and one must give others AT LEAST A CHANCE to succeed. Obviously sometimes the male half of this equation flees, but in Sarah Palin’s daughter, this is not the case.

The media has been hammering away about how suddenly the Levi Johnston (her boyfriend) is invited to the GOP Convention and “what kind of example does this set”.
What these judgmental persons are saying IMO is that “knock up the Governors daughter, go to Washington DC”. I disagree, although I do think this was bad judgment on the daughter and this young man’s part, forgiveness and understanding is far more important. What I see is an understanding, loving, and forgiving woman that would quite bluntly based on this and the MANY accomplishments she has done (such as taking on party bosses in her own party) in such a short time make not only a great VP, but honestly I would vote for her in a heartbeat for President. Sarah Palin has impressed me with her record more than anyone in politics has in over two decades, I wish that more people behaved like her (of coarse with the media this is like expecting flying pigs to be serving free beer at all College and NFL Football Games)!!!

I find judgmentalism, whether from the political right or left utterly disgusting and my life has been destroyed and my own daughter and family in general hurt severely emotionally and financially by what has been 100% false judgments!!!!
Character does not seem to matter to anyone any more, otherwise I would not have suffered so many attacks for standing by my family even after my wife had a devastating affair with a Judas (who to this day is unrepentant and still seeking to divide and destroy our family) that harmed us, my daughter (she still needs counseling for this), and financially ruined us! If character mattered these attacks on Sarah Palin would not have happened and Barack Obama would be at around 10% in the polls.

On another attack involving Sarah Palin; Barack Obama and his cohorts are attacking Sarah Palin on “earmarks” (pork) stating that she has voted or back more of these earmarks of Federal funding for Alaska than Obama and that Alaska is the #1 recipient of this type of federal funding. While on the surface this may be true, when just a little honest digging for real truth is done, one finds out quickly that Alaska has more land owned by the Federal Government AS A PERCENTAGE OF AREA than any other state. I being from county in Oregon (Josephine County) that also has mush of its land tied up (run by the Feds), that this takes away from the tax base all the while we still get visitors that come unto these public lands and then end up needing public service such as police or rescue (think Kim family, Nov. 2006). This is an over simplification, but it I am sorry, if the Feds are going to put lands off limits to the state, the state should be compensated.
So when you get down to these accusation by Obama and his willing media cohorts, this is a down right lie (unless they are that stupid, which with Obama’s I do not think he is stupid, however with the media stupidity is likely the case).

BTW according to the Anchorage Daily News Palin has requested 83 federal earmarks at a cost of $453 million while Obama requested 330 projects totaling $931.3 million, according to his Senate website where he discloses all his requests.

I have always taken care of my family and never have asked for help, yet recent years including a move form a going business in LA to protect my family and get my wife and children away from problems that ended up with our family being labeled and broke.
My first daughter had problems (I will not go into) that my wife could not deal well with due to severe postpartum depression, followed by a daughter with feeding and other difficulties followed by a son that contracted Meningitis in the hospital followed by other serous problem that left him in and out of the hospital for the first 14 months of his life. Later he was diagnosed with Autism. During this time I asked for little help and what I did get was mostly judgment by person that would not look beneath the surface even a little. Much of what happened as to my wife (spending issues, mental health, affair, etc.), son, and my daughters could have been slowed, stopped, prevented, etc. if others who were in place to help just stood up and were counted.
This brings me to many RINO Republicans nowadays, although I do not believe Government is our daddy, if there are provisions in the law to help persons such as us, they should be granted equally or otherwise discarded. I have always disliked the term compassionate conservatism as conservatism at its core is compassionate and helps those who helps themselves. Unfortunately as to Food Stamps/ Oregon Trail (along with many other areas of government such as labor laws which I will not address here) this is not the case.
I have tried contacting many local politicians where I got little help, and finally found that my local US Representative (Greg Walden) was whom I needed to seek help from. Yet calls were never returned and the one time I did speak with this horrible individuals office they talked down to me, explaining to me that I knew about accounting (even though I got nothing less than an ‘A’ in high school or college accounting.

The problem is the Federal Food Stamps program only allows for an over all cost of goods and expenses deduction of 50% from sales. This is ludicrous as even my vastly more profitable Aquarium Maintenance business back in LA NEVER made these kinds of profit and our internet business that we have now is doing well when we achieve 10% (& for readers passing judgment on me while reading this, although I work very long hours, this is the only way I can take care of my autistic son, cook my family meals and in general take care of my family).
Walden’s office and other local government employees even admitted that it if I was a bum pan handling in front of Wal-Mart for my next drink, I could get food stamps. Is this what conservatism really about, I do not think so!

Based on Greg Walden and some Evangelical Republicans actions (that pretend to be conservative when it is politically opportunistic), I know the statement “What Would Jesus Do” would not apply to them as this is certainly NOT what Jesus would do. There is much more to this problem than just this one incident, this is just one recent example.

Although I often listen to Rush Limbaugh and find him very insightful, I have to disagree and note that he is way off base as to why so many persons are disenchanted with many Republicans. Liberal Republicans such as John McCain would never get the nomination if so many everyday Republican voters, such as me did not feel that the so-called conservative candidates would live and act what they say.
I am sorry, as the Bible says: “You will know my children by their fruits”. I know many others who are fed up with pseudo conservatives and Evangelical Christians that are total hypocrites and the Republican Party and pundits such as Rush Limbaugh need to wake up and realize that the arrogance of so many Republicans is a major turn off to so many Republican voters and even some of my Democrat friends that have considered voting Republican and then were turned off by their actions vs. words.

The difficult dilemma is my choices on a National level is with a likely Democrat candidate that is either so ignorant or immoral as to the dangers we face on a national level that he thinks we can reason with persons that are pure evil and want nothing more than ours and Israel’s destruction.
History has proven this time and time again (think about Neville Chamberlain; “peace in our time” or the US Senator who stated that if he could of talked to Hitler before he invaded Poland, the invasion would never have happened. From my own life this kind of reasoning that Obama and others like Nancy Pelosi espouse is a kin to my the statement; “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” (which I wrote a personal post in my journal about). On a personal level this kind of evil thinking by Obama and his ilk is why my family is in the situation it is in now, while on a national level this can harm far more than just our family.

As many already know that history has a sad habit of repeating itself, yet many in the world, especially here in the USA seem to forget or conveniently ignore this. The main stream media has this problem as due many Politians, especially those who consider power more important than truth.

The facts are Amin al-Husseini, the grand mufti of Jerusalem; a zealous and violent person, who sought refuge in Baghdad after being exiled in 1937. A former Ottoman Empire artillery officer turned teacher, al-Husseini was sentenced to ten years in prison by the British for his part in anti-Jewish riots in 1920 in Jerusalem. In a gesture of misplaced leniency, he was pardoned and stood for grand mufti in the following year.

The British calculated that there was nothing to lose in allowing al-Husseini to play the role since he had no adherents in the Arab community.
This proved to be a mistake. As grand mufti, he was poised to exploit Arab-Jewish tension that began with the exodus of Jews to Palestine in the 1930s. His anti-Semitic rhetoric found an audience in a growing middle class. As president of the Supreme Muslim Council, he controlled religious schools and courts as well as trust funds that spread his message in Iraq and Syria. He also launched attacks on Jewish settlements and assassinated moderate Arabs who urged compromise but were marginalized by terrorism and Islamic fundamentalism. Moreover, the mufti benefited from a decline in British fortunes. After 1938, Germany, Italy, and even Spain fueled Arab nationalism with radio broadcasts, cultural subsidies, and anti-Semitic literature that was translated and distributed through schools by al-Husseini. Palestinians imitated fascist organizations and praised Nazi racial laws, dreaming of a day when Germany and Italy would eject the British and the Jews from the Middle East, which thankfully never came.

Amin Al-Husseini would instigate a pro-nazi coup in Baghdad, Iraq in 1941. Kharaillah Tulfah is his right-hand man. Tulfah is Saddam Hussein’s mentor and uncle. Amin Al-Husseini uses his influence in the Third Reich to have Germany sends weapons and aircrafts to Husseini, this also failed.

Later as the Third Reich’s fate seemed sealed the Grand Mufti, Amin al-Husseini continued to work with Hitler achieving an honorary rank in the SS by Heinrich Himmler (Head of SS) and even commissioning Muslin Soldiers to fight under the Nazi flag in the Balkans. After the fall of the Third Reich Amin al-Husseini fled to Bagdad and later the British give Amin Al-Husseini amnesty.

Amin Al-Husseini becomes one of the founders of Arab League shortly there after Egyptian-born Yasser Arafat meets Amin Al-Husseini at age 17 and starts to work for him as Husseini’s policy of ethnic cleansing is passed on. He uses recently acquired Nazi methodology to implement his vision of an Arab World free of Jews. In 1948 with UN recognition, Israel declares statehood. The Arab League immediately declares Jihad (Holy War) against Israel.
Amin Al-Husseini is directly implicated in providing safe haven to ex-Nazis in Arab lands and formation of the ODESSA network. Egypt, home of Muslim Brotherhood, and Syria incorporate thousands of Nazi experts into Egyptian and Syrian army, government and propaganda service.

In 1962 Amin Al-Husseini becomes president of World Islamic Congress, which he founded. The Islamic Fundamentalists implement plan of making Arab lands free of Jews, as Hitler did in Europe. He is there credited by many as an influence by many including Saddam Hessein (who all well read students of history know him to be a mass murderer in his own right).

Others that have credited Amin Al-Husseini as an influence include Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Osama Bin Laden (of whose Al Qaeda is directly connected to Amin Al-Husseini).
In his post-September 11th declaration to the world (October 7th 2001), Osama Bin Laden openly states his allegiance to the Ottoman Empire and its notion of Islamic take-over, thus drawing a direct connection with Amin Al-Husseini. He states that his Jihad is in retaliation for ‘80 years of disgrace and humiliation’, which marks the humiliating defeat of the Ottoman Islamic Empire at the hands of the French and British in 1918. The year 1921 also marks the year that Amin Al Husseini was appointed Grand Mufti of Jerusalem (against the will of the people) and thus marks the conception of Osama Bin Laden’s Jihad.
The bottom line is these people are EVIL and will stop short of nothing but the destruction of the USA, Israel and many other nations. Appeasement is NOT an option as many in the Media, Barak Obama and many other individuals would have us believe.

Barak Obama who is an obviously intelligent and engaging person has really shown his true colors here especially in his relationship to his long time pastor who has made some comments that are quite bluntly “evil” such as the his condemning our support of Israel and our use of the atomic bombs on Japan (gee, did not the Japanese attack us first and did they not kill and torture many innocents, especially in China and Korea?). Barack’s comments that he was not present when these statements were made simply does not hold up for someone of his intelligence. He has used his Pastor Jeremiah Wright when it was convenient for him. There is no way ANY thinking person can support and attend a church or similar organization without knowing and supporting there views.

The Ignorance of the Left such as Barack Obama, Senator Harry Reid (& even some in the Religious Right).

I am just so baffled how some can be so ignorant (I am not saying stupid, and even here loath to be name calling but I see no other alternative) of the evil that we face in this world that means to destroy us. The hatred of the USA, Great Britain, Israel and others can easily be tracked back to World War II.
Adolph Hitler Met with Arab Muslim Grand Mufti Amin Al Hus (of Jerusalem) in the early 1940s of which his hatred of the USA, Israel was made very clear. This man worked with Hitler and after the fall of the Third Reich continued on in this mission including the first attacks on the newly restored nation of Israel.
The Grand Mufti Amin Al Hus passed the torch to many other Muslin extremists such as the leaders of Hezbollah, Iran, even Saddam Hussein.

Yet persons such as Barack Obama cannot see this and the dangers we truly face as he thinks he can appease those who demand our destruction. His comments about McCain in the last week of February 2008 about the war in Iraq displayed this ignorance further.

However the Religious right is also not immune from this ignorance, the same sort of cult following of Barack Obama is also enjoyed by Governor Huckabee (not quite to the same extreme and he at least has shown some understanding of a few issues). Dobson and other backers of Huckabee seem to ignore the hide your head in the sand attitude of Huckabee since he is “correct” on a few issues (of which are of much lower importance IMO and can be worked by loving education). Unfortunately my own life experience screams out the sad tale of this view to back off and “let God” when that is not what the Bible says. God does want us to love our enemy, but we are also called to stand up for what is right, NOT to forgive those who do not seek forgiveness (I am referring to others who seek harm against others either violently or through misinformation/rumors, NOT to judgments that are the Lord’s on certain choices in life). This looking the other way happened in Nazi occupied Europe and has also allowed many to destroy my life and to this day continue in lies about me.

Back to the far left, I believe they have the few hide your head in the sand persons on the far right beat hands down though. I personally cannot find anything redeeming about Harry Reid, I am sorry to say you have to have no discernment to not come to the conclusion that this man is downright Evil.

McCain/Huckabee; possible GOP Ticket?

I find the dishonesty between McCain and Huckabee about their back room deal for West Virginia really disgusting, especially considering Huckabee is supposed to be a “man of faith”. However this is also not a surprise to me either based on how many Evangelicals act (of coarse not all). The attacks by Evangelicals on Romney are ridiculous and this is also more proof of the hate that Baptists have for others that do not fit their image.
Huckabee is a one issue candidate and I really doubt his views are any better than anything Romney believes yet this does not matter to so many as image is everything to so many Evangelicals. Worse Huckabee comes across a typical “hide your head in the sand” or “hear no evil, see no evil” Evangelical based on his world views (as to the dangers and intentions of Terrorists) and even his social views.
If you want to get down to religion even though I have disagreements with Mormons on many theological issues, who really embraces the spirit of Luke10:25-37, Mormons or many of Huckabee’s ilk? Personally as the leader of the United States I would prefer the prior based on this passage alone.

Sadly when commenting on an official Huckabee website about his actions against Romney and his carefully crafted image, his minions attacked me on a personal level that showed that they did not even read my About Me page that I posted with my comment that showed where I had been in life and where many Baptists with his views turned their backs on my family.
Sadly, so typical of persons of his/their ilk!

I am not an Evangelical (I used to be) but after witnessing the hypocrisy and down right evils in Baptist Churches in particular (try and convince a Baptist of the importance of Luke 10:25-37 and they totally miss the point as image is everything)., minionswith Huckabee on the ticket.
That said I could even vote for Clinton, knowing that her abrasive personality will not get everything done that she wants. And at least what you see is what you get with her.

On the flip side an Obama candidacy might make me still vote for this combination as he has been as bad as Huckabee at pulling the wool over Democrat’s eyes as Huckabee. With his slick personality I worry much more about him than Hillary not to mention when it comes to dealing with terrorist threats she has at least demonstrated in the past some sense of the dangers while he has not. At another forum I frequent another stated just this same sediment that he actually scares him more as he is well left of her in his socialist views and his slickness allows him to get away with this which in my opinion makes him a far more dangerous person than Hillary despite what many conservative say (even Rush Limbaugh).
As well disliking Obama more than Hillary does not make me a racist despite what a person who blindly supports Huckabee accused me of in a forum (this is what Huckabee has in common with Obama; slick packages with some bad ingredients inside).

Even my local Republican politicians (past/present) show similar arrogance based on their so-called faith and will look the other way when truths are presented to them that they do not want to hear based on the image they want to project.

It is looking like I will not be voting for a single Republican on the ballot (local/national) for the first time in my life, although if McCain can mend fences with Romney or tap Thompson for VP, I still may vote Republican at least for President.

I find the love affair with Google down right sickening. Yes Microsoft certainly has not always used ethics in its business dealings, but at least they have battled those who can afford lawyers and can call notice to actions via the media. I will also note that as a person with three special needs children (and paying a heavy personal and economic price for it) that at least Bill Gates is the number contributor to autism (from which my son suffers).

Google on the other hand goes after the little guy with no voice or legal budget.
I had an Adsense account a while back that had a day of malicious clicks (but not from us), Google well knows where the isp of these hits came from but they instead chose to take all my money that was built up in my account (I understand the questionable click money) all the while refusing to answer emails with anything other than form emails (then nothing).

AND WORSE, as someone who has spent a lifetime in research in aquatics with many unique articles on the internet, Googles terrible search algorithm allows my plagiarized article to come up in searches (right at the top) while my originals are often no where to be found. YEY in Yahoo and MSN search my articles come right to the top and the plagiarized articles are no where to be found. GO FIGURE!

Of coarse there is an easy answer; follow the money. These ripped of articles have Google Adwords or other adverts all over them while the originals do not.
Also I have contacted Google about this and although at first they were helpful, they now refuse to stop this (the least they could do is fix their algorithm).

I know many in SEO forums (who have flamed me in SEO forums for EVEN suggesting that the great and all knowing Google God could do this) would state this is not possible as these are two separate entities under the Google trademark, HOWEVER my answer to this is that this is REALLY hiding your head in the sand (which is common in cult like followings whether it be Google, politics, ignoring evil world leaders, or religion). Google has the knowledge and technology to make this happen. They also know how to make this happen in a subtle way (just like every other deceitful thing they do) so as to not draw attention (& lawsuits) to themselves, which one reason they go after small companies or less known article publishers such as myself. Google is certainly not stupid enough to allow a plagiarized from a CNN writer rise above the original just because it has Adwords content. The fact that Google uses authority links as part of their algorithm is one proof of this and another as to why their searches often yield crap at least in the Aquatics/fishkeeping research field (if CNN wrote an article about fish walking on land and working at CNN, it would rise above an article written by someone such as myself dispelling this myth).

By the way a Yahoo Search on my articles site finds articles and keywords (out of over 300 pages) vastly better than Google, which often brings up spam site (try “aquarium information” or worse "Planaria in Aquarium"). So much for Google.

In fact as far as the keyword search “Aquarium Information”, I wrote a companion site with VERY different spammy methods and content at the same time as my more serious aquarium information resource site, and guess which one does better on Google, yep the spammy one, while the spammy one is not to be found on Yahoo or MSN.

Other poor Google search results include "Aquarium Lighting" & "UV Bulbs"
With Googles nightmare Panda Update, purely "cut & paste" SPAM sites such as "onedersave.com/blog" often come up to the top of search results! This site has no real SEO, no authority inbound links, yet is top in search results for terms such as "Planaria in Aquarium".

By the way, this is not to say Google does not put out good products, they do (I am using Blogger here, in part because I have had this Blogger account way to long to go start over somewhere else) it is more that Google is not whom they pretend to be. Kind of like a person whom I worked with previously that was very smart person, just his business skills were not what he convinced others around they were (he was an awesome engineer). People need to understand that image and marketing are also strengths of Google as well, which is where perception comes in (again just like the person I referenced above in my other blog about the “worst job”)

In fact one other lie of Googles is what they tell Webmasters about back links: I have found that some of my highest rated back links on Yahoo and MSN are the very relevant content ones while Google (that claims to put much emphasis on content) gives my highest relevance to a few (high PR mind you) tech in bound links not to my more relevant links. Of coarse this goes hand in hand with how stolen articles of mine can show in a Google search while mine do not (and BTW, this is not to say I do not have search terms that do well in Google, I have many that I am in the top 5 or number even #1).

Based on this love of Google and its corruption and what I and my family have been through, this is no surprise as we live in a very morally bankrupt world and I really fear for my children’s future.
My wife, daughter and family were already harmed while persons with the power to help looked the other way! And untruths about me continue to circulate about me while others with the power to stop this look the other way as they are not willing to look for the truth in these rumors, so our family is subjected to poverty because of this.

Solar Activity- & Man-Made Global Warming

I am just dumbfounded how so many persons can believe such an obvious lie as Global Warming. This scares me far more for our children’s future than the possible Global Warming as being this naive can allow so many other even worse evils into our world.
However based on my own personal experience, this naïve allowing of lies to perpetuate has already begun in other aspects of life where other fail to see truth and look to image as of more importance. See this blog for more on this subject: My Thoughts

The Earth hit its peak warming of this cycle between 1998 and 2002 (and is heading down) and even then it never peaked as high as during the Medieval Warm period. Every real scientific evidence points towards Sun spot activity as the cause of any real climate change. What arrogance of man to think his tiny contributions of any kind can make this much difference (look at the billions spent fighting the Yellowstone fires in 1988 and a small September snowstorm was all it took to put these fires out).

What the Man-Made Global Warming Crowd keep this myth alive is doing is to only use urban data then extrapolate this to raw rural data that actually shows cooling.

Here is Oregon we have had two years in a row with snow where snow does not normally fall (and not just one snow fall either). Then there is China and the Middle East (Israel, Jordon, Lebanon)also experiencing similar unusual cold waves.
Admittedly this is anecdotal, but so is much of the manipulated evidence presented by the Man Made Global Warming crowd.

Huckabee Evangelical vote

Huckabee wins Iowa with Evangelical vote.

Huckabees huge victory among Evangelical Christians just further alienates me from the Republican Party (for which I am currently a member, although I do not know for how much longer).
As a Christian myself, I refuse to go along with the one issue politics of Huckabee and Evangelicals. Huckabee is not on par with many core beliefs of Republicans (myself included) and my own experience with Evangelicals both in general and politically has shown them to be very hypocritical “Sunday Christians”, which I have discussed in other blog; “My Thoughts”.

I agree with Huckabee as to abortion and Creationism, however even here I a leery of him as even the I oppose abortion in principle, I know many good Christians that have been alienated due to the stigma attached to a decision to have an abortion and his approach seems to be rather hard line here (I could be wrong). The same goes for creationism as even though I have never scientifically “bought” into evolution, even long before becoming a Christian, I still believe in all views being taught and although I believe Huckabees position is similar, I again somewhat leery of him here based on his rhetoric.

Back to Huckabee’s other views and history, I find them rather socialist (not that all my views are right wing either), but from his view on National Defense (where I think he is rather “hide your head in the sand” about) to domestic issues I have part ways.

Also the Evangelical disdain of Romney simply because of his Mormon faith further disgusts me. This is interesting as Mormon growth in Massachusetts stagnated during his tenure there as Governor, so much for using his power as a governor or president as a bully pulpit.

I hope that either Thompson or Romney can prove Iowa wrong, if Huckabee wins the nomination, I am NOT voting Republican (which I am not on my local candidates anyway, see an earlier post in this blog as to one reason: “Oregon Food Stamps”).

Speaking of this issue (Food Stamps), some may say I am looking for a hand out here, far from this, I just want politicians to stand up for what is right and just and NOT give out hand outs to those un-willing to work for them. I work 80 + hours per week and am the primary caregiver in my home as well and only expect help from the government as to what they have promised, not to mention the $1000s of tax dollars I have contributed over the years, never even tapping any government “freebies”.

Yahoo Answers and other anecdotal aquarium information for aquarium hobbyists.

I have been in the aquarium trade in a professional capacity for over 28 years and as a hobbyist for almost 40 (as of the time of writing this blog entry). I also have been conducting research both hands on and via internet and books for a long time too.

I caution anyone who is searching for reliable aquarium and pond information to be very careful in what they read and believe as much of what is passed around as fact is often tired old information that might sound good in theory but in reality is nothing more than someone’s often misguided opinion. Much of the research I perform is outside the aquarium and pond keeping hobby/industry as there is often much better, well researched and funded information to be had elsewhere (and without the constant recirculation of poor information).

The internet and Yahoo Answers in particular can be poor places for aquatic information if one is not careful. I will especially tell readers to be wary of Yahoo Answers as the format is very poor for allowing truly good information to get passed. I used to be a Top Contributor there, but since I needed to go back to research and other aspects of my aquatics occupation, I lost this so called credibility. Another problem is that many persons there get multiple aliases so that they can reward themselves with “best answer” when it goes to voting. The communication is poor there and there is a competition to get answers out fast regardless of the fact. Also I have noticed that the vast majority of resources sited are very poor with little relevance to the question asked and most persons who answer questions never read others resources to see if they should even bother answering the question, rather they often will try and out do the other.

Also be wary of blog posts that are nothing more than ways to sell drugs like Viagra and even sites such as about.com that may have some good information are still in the end often anecdotal.

Here are a few aquatic subjects for which anecdotal information abounds:
Redox Potential, UV Sterilization, Bio Wheels, Aquarium Medications and Treatments, osmoregulation in fish, correct calcium levels, how aquarium filters work, The Nitrogen Cycle (such as the use of raw shrimp to cycle aquariums), Aquarium Lighting" (such as the use of LED Aquarium Lights), and much more!

I strongly recommend to readers of this blog post they find a good forum such as Everything Aquatic and use Aquarium and Pond Information sites that are well researched and updated regularly (as well as find a reputable LFS and read some up to date books).

The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) is one of the more corruptly administered government agencies, at least as to how they treat small businesses and how DHS uses FNS as a tool to split families apart.
Their computing methods make impossible for small business persons to get any kind of aid, even though many have paid into the system for years with their taxes. the result is often a business may have to close, laying off persons just so the owner can provide better for their family.
IS THIS JOB FRIENDLY? OF COARSE NOT!!

As well the Department of Humans Services also uses the FNS as a tool to break apart families by hanging out the "carrot" of a Food Stamps Card if one separates from their spouse.
I personally was a victim of this ploy, as well I know of several others that live separately or incognito as per DHS just to qualify for FNS

I had to leave my old aquarium maintenance business a few years back to take care of my family (with THREE special needs kids!).
The last few years have not been kind to my family income and in many other ways, so I found myself finally asking the very morally bankrupt FNS via the State of Oregon for help only to be turned down for food stamps with a take home income of $1500 per month.
For some strange reason the State of Oregon figures my income without accounting for my cost of goods or expenses for my work at home business, what the corrupt FNS allows would only be true in a business run by the mob!
I was a business major in college and can see nothing logical about their computing methods.

And to make things worse all the persons I have contacted have been condescending and rude (such as Gregg Walden's Office)!

I am now resigned to living off credit cards for how ever long they will hold out!
I have always paid my full balances up until now.

I would not even be in this situation looking for help if Good Men/women stood up and helped us several years back during my wife’s nervous breakdown, son’s autism diagnosis and what eventually happened to my daughter.
I think it is time for persons in our wretched government to stand up and do what is right instead of looking the other way and stating that they care for the cameras.

Does the FNS or Oregon care? Of coarse not!!
The state of Oregon and especially the Governor should be ashamed of themselves.

Saltwater as a fuel

Saltwater as a fuel, fuel cell, or energy source.

This video about an experiment that started as a cancer treatment experiment is very interesting, although the separation of Hydrogen and oxygen in saltwater is not unknown.

I do have a couple of observations that have not been answered by all the amazement by the media:

(1) What frequency of radio waves are required?
(2) More importantly, what is the energy input (ie radio waves) required to start this process. Also what then is the output of energy? In other words if the input is say 100 K and the output is 50 K, this would not be very efficient.
I guess I don’t see this as a viable source of energy for a vehicle as the mechanism to run the radio wave generator will require its own energy source.

This may be a step in the direction, however realistic criticism is necessary to keep in check good ideas in theory but are unrealistic in application as so often happens today especially once the media gets a hold of an idea (which is generally clueless when it comes to differencing theory from fact).

I do hope this can work where it may be more practical such as an electrical power plant that utilizes solar or some other power source to generate radio waves.
My understanding of E=MC2 tells me that there are certainly possibilities here and I hope my doubting can be proven wrong (although the second law of thermodynamics does not give me much hope).

Aquarium help, articles, answers and misinformation

There is lot of information available about so many subjects on the internet today and this information grows by the hour.

When it comes to Aquarium Information this can be both a blessing and a curse. For the average aquarist it is easy to get fooled by the anecdotal misinformation that is extremely prevalent. This is compounded by the popularity of pasting others posts (or down right plagiarizing) that have no real basis in research or even real world practical experience.
What then happens is a snow ball effect whereby the same anecdotal stories get copied over and over to the point that a new aquarist has a hard time believing a correct article when everything else they read says something else (and unfortunately this happens with many long time aquarists that are either too lazy or arrogant to check the facts) .

I have seen this with Aquarium Filters where many will pass around statements about bio wheels, Fluvals and more that are not true. No one ever bothers to run head to head comparisons of say a sponge filter and a bio wheel filter or look at the poor head pressure of the Fluval and proprietary tubing these require that makes them difficult to adapt to other devices such as UV Sterilizers

When it comes to reef keeping, Aquarium lighting, aquarium Heaters, plants, and even Aquarium and pond pumps it often gets worse. But in my opinion chemistry (such as pH, GH, KH), and medications is where poor Aquarium Answers anecdotal information gets really passed around. Examples would be about the carcinogenic properties of Malachite Green (which scientific studies show are only possible in mega doses beyond what an aquarist is going to use). I recently found an answer (picked best too!) on Yahoo Answers about KH that was about as correct as the world is flat! I deal with some of these in my blog Fish as Pets .

My point here (besides the obvious frustration on my part) is that this is a hobby and trade I have in some capacity spent 40 years of my life in (much of it running a large aquarium maintenance company while reading and performing research on the side) and I do not want to see all this misinformation destroy the hobby or at the least hold down its potential for better aquarium and pond husbandry which can result in less fish and aquatic deaths.
Please read everything with an open mind and experiment, be wary when told ‘everyone’ does something one way (common advice with Protein Skimmers, not that they do not work all the while making false statements about UV Sterilizers killing all your ‘good’ bacteria as well as ‘bad’).
When in forums, please read references (one of my pet peeves as I will often site references that get read less than 5% of the time), if the references check out, this persons comments might be worth considering rather than just believing the leader or most popular person on the forum.
Finally, sometimes ask for more explanations and keep in mind that the science of the day may be proven wrong tomorrow, that is why I reread and re-research my aquarium information articles on a regular basis, and believe me I have had to correct myself many times!

D-Day Prayer, F.D. Roosevelt; Compare to Obama Apologize for America

I found this D-Day prayer written by President Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) as Allied troops were invading German-occupied France & Europe during World War II very moving. Considering the political correctness of today that does not allow prayer in many places, this is particularly poignant. We are today fighting an evil as horrible as Nazi Germany that seeks our destruction and is every bit as anti Semitic as Nazi Germany.

The prayer was read to the nation on radio on the evening of D-Day, June 6, 1944, while American, British and Canadian troops were fighting to establish beach heads on the coast of Normandy in France.

This is unlike our disgusting President Obama who feels the need to apologize for our nation that while we have made many mistakes, we as a nation have liberated many at great personal costs.

Global Warming Part 3

The arrogance of many such as Al Gore and his religious zeal in enforcing the Church of Global Warming still amazes me (reminds me of how the Church reacted to Galileo and his statement that the Earth revolved around the sun, which at the time contradicted the established science of the day).

Who also is to say that are current climate is best? The Vikings certainly enjoyed the vastly warmer climate of their day. Now I am not advocating purposefully heating the planet to achieve this, I also question the religious like prosecution of the data available and disposing of facts that do not fit the model and socialist agenda.
False or distorted information has become an epidemic in this country and not just here, but in my profession as well where anecdotal facts and hypothesis pose as facts.

We as citizens of this planet certainly have a stewardship obligation, however the amount of CO2 produced and currently in the atmosphere is a fraction of the total atmosphere at 380 ppm.

NATO countries would then warn Iran that their next unprovoked attack on a vessel of a member nation would incite the entire alliance against them in a response that truly would be of a “disproportionate” nature.

In this apparition of mine, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, in Syria at the time, would lecture the Assad regime that there would be consequences to its serial murdering of democratic reformers in Lebanon, to fomenting war with Israel by means of its surrogates, and to sending terrorists to destroy the nascent constitutional government in Iraq.

She would add that the United States could never be friends with an illegitimate dictatorship that does its best to destroy the only three democracies in the region. And then our speaker would explain to Iran that a U.S. Congresswoman would never detour to Tehran to dialogue with a renegade government that had utterly ignored U.N. non-proliferation mandates and daily had the blood of Americans on its hands.

Fellow Democrats like John Kerry, Barbara Boxer, and Harry Reid would add that, as defenders of the liberal tradition of the West, they were not about to call a retreat before extremist killers who behead and kidnap, who blow up children and threaten female reformers and religious minorities, and who have begun using poison gas, all in an effort to annihilate voices of tolerance in Iraq.

These Democrats would reiterate that they had not authorized a war to remove the psychopathic Saddam Hussein only to allow the hopeful country to be hijacked by equally vicious killers. And they would warn the world that their differences with the Bush administration, whatever they might be, pale in comparison to the shared American opposition to the efforts of al Qaeda, the Taliban, Syria, and Iran to kill any who would advocate freedom of the individual.

Those in Congress would not deny that Congress itself had voted for a war against Saddam on 23 counts — the vast majority of which had nothing to do with weapons of mass destruction and remain as valid today as when they were approved in 2002.

Congressional Democrats would make clear that, while in the interests of peace they might wish to talk to Iran, they had no idea how to approach a regime that subsidizes Holocaust denial, threatens to wipe out Israel, defies the world in seeking nuclear weapons, trains terrorists to kill Americans in Iraq, engages in piracy and hostage taking, and butchers or incarcerates any of its own who question the regime."

I do have to admit that the data does not go back far enough to make this proof that the warming on Earth must be the Sun, however this is no worse than much of the anecdotal evidence presented by the Reverend Al Gore of the Church of Global Warming (as he had his coronation during the Academy Awards in February 2007).

What the religious zealots of Global Warming say about of Mars’ warming, is wobbles in Mars’ orbit are the cause. Unfortunately the Earth’s orbit also wobbles.
Some naysayer’s of this data also claim that sun activity has decreases in the last few years, however when I have read information about this, it does not appear to take all types of Solar activity and the often delayed reactions of different Solar activity. This data may also speak for the Earth to decrease its warming sooner than expected, if this holds true, the Reverend Al Gore of the Church of Global Warming will not be able to hide in the future predictions 50+ years out when they will not be around to answer for their lies.

The computers models show that as CO2 increases, water vapor (a much more potent Greenhouse Gas) will increase rapidly, yet this is not happening, why?
Also note that the world was much warmer than now in the 1200s, must have been all those cars!

In the 1850s world temperatures started back up (snow in London where there is generally rain). This mini "Ice Age" started in the 1400s and really got going about 1570 (see Frobisher's journal). The mid 1600s is when the well known "year without a summer happened"

World temperatures may no longer be increasing. Data collected in the Great Britain show temperature in the troposphere is virtually unchanged since 1979 if volcanic eruptions and El Nino events are taken into account.

And currently the trend has been towards more extremes if you look at the facts. The Northern Hemisphere is in one of the coldest winters in decades, it snowed in LA where it has not snowed since the 1950s and here in the low valleys of Southern Oregon we have snow on the ground for almost two weeks when the longest is usually ½ day. Meantime in Australia where it is summer, they are experiencing extreme heat wave.
These are called climatic cycles.

It is also interesting that all the charts I have seen only go back to the 1850s when global temperatures bottomed out, Al Gore and his dishonest America haters never show charts beyond this time frame. Another point is what is the horror anyway of a few degree warmer temperatures? In the Medieval Warm Spell grapes grew in England where they will not today. Also the Earth is amazing in how regulates itself climatologically. Hurricanes are natures (God’s in my view) cooling system. An average hurricane vents heat high into the Stratosphere cooling the Earth’s surface, especially in Equatorial regions. Hurricane severity also ebbs and flows along with other aspects of climate, the last two years were great examples; 2005 being a really active year, while 2006 was one of the most quiet in many years).

As for the scientist all agreeing, this is a farce as there are certainly plenty plugging this to get more grant money and find more ways to hate the USA, but most who agree are not even Meteorological Scientists. You really just need to follow the money trail, Carbon credits to Third world countries are simply taxes on the USA and other Industrial Nations.

Where are the facts please?:

The so called "consensus" is just that, so-called. Many scientists who disagree are black listed. Many weather persons are accepted into umbrella organization for weather forecaster if they disagree. Global Warming is the “New Communism” in the world in the way it is conducted and how facts are quelled.
A while back in history there was a scientific consensus that the earth was flat, that is until Gallileo came along and finally proved otherwise.

A few more facts:

*Water vapor is a vastly more common Green House Gas than CO2.
Water Vapor absorbs infrared radiation at wavelengths of 4.26 µm which will trap heat.

*CO2 is a very minor part of our atmosphere (0.0384% as of 2007) and even with the increase (which no honest person denies), it will have little impact on global temperatures as stated above water vapor is much more common and effective Green House Gas. One Volcanic eruption can dump vastly more CO2 than 100 years of man made CO2.
I can speak from experience on this subject base on my nearly three decades of work in the aquarium maintenance and research business where part this research has been with CO2 injection into aquariums. At worst, additional CO2 will result in more plant growth and I am not sure that this is a bad thing?

*Studies in Antarctica (as well as many other places, including Mt Shasta in the USA) show the ice sheet growing, not retreating. Most articles make it sound as if all of Antarctica is melting. As far as I’m concerned, these reports are misleading, because it's mainly only the ice on the Antarctic Peninsula that's melting.

This Global Warming report is the biggest sham forced down the public’s throat in my lifetime. I am an amateur meteorologist who also loves history and this history is totally ignored in these bogus reports. This report was just more inflammatory rhetoric without any real facts (including historical facts other than charts that show warming since the 1850s (which no one denies).
Why does news media not seek out the real facts, money trail, and drive for socialism that fuels this false hysteria?
